Looooong time lurker here, but I have just read an article that really hits home to me as it's quite local to where I live, but I think it's important to see the outcome.
There is a village in Midlands called Hixon not too far from me (I'm aware of it), apparently according to a news article there is a private hazardous waste incinerator planned to be placed next to their primary school, within meters.
I have just finished watching toxic town, so it feels fresh and seeing the pain of what those Mums/ families had to go through with the council etc telling them it was safe, when it was not. Have we learnt nothing as a country?
Anyway, logic dictates we do not put hazardous waste incinerators next to schools/playing fields/ people, full stop. Accidents happen all the time that is way too close in case they get accidental exposure.
They already have a metal burning refinery next door....nice. The article states it goes to the Staffordshire county planning committee for decision on 2nd Oct. So if this is approved this looks like they plonk these medical waste incinerators near all schools in the UK as it sets a very low bar!
