To have cried because of the delivery driver?

I ordered a takeaway (I’ve not had one in months and there was an offer). The driver said to me “are you tired?” … “… no?” … “well you look really tired”

We all know that means you look like crap. It just fucks me off that people think it’s ok to ever comment on someone’s appearance.

Yanbu. It’s so rude when people say this. It’s “outspoken” people with no filter, and those types of people are very draining.

If it was your mum or your best friend or someone else close to you saying it out of concern, then that’s a different thing. Even then it’s usually not on to point it out.
A randomer delivering your take away is just saying it because he thinks he’s being funny which is just weird. Bet he wouldn’t say that to a man.

I cried because it’s been a horrible time lately and I’ve been feeling really self conscious this month and it was just the final straw.

I’m sure most of the poster saying “grow up” and “get a grip” have cried over something trivial because it was your final straw and not because of that exact thing.

Then maybe he was right and it touched a nerve

Not gonna lie @Canwegobacktobegin he probably fancied you and this was his arse-about-face way of chatting you up. One bloke who worked at the place I worked at (when I was 17, MANY years ago,) kept staring at me like a moron, and waving at me. he stared at me once (when I was closeby) and said 'you've got a spot on your nose!' I was like Confused Then later he said 'you have a bit of a big bum!'

Turned out he fancied me and wanted to go out with me, and had had a crush on me for several months. Fucking weird way to show it! I didn't fancy him, and he knew it when I started dating someone else, and told his mate to get him to stop staring at me and badgering me. He left me alone then, thankfully!

Projecting a lot with this. Nothing to suggest he fancied the op 😂 I've been told I look tired by other women I guess they fancy me too

What a ridiculous response, the world has moved on from believing that little Billy pulling your pigtails means he secretly wants to marry you 🙄

Yes it has. We now call it negging and recognise it as a red flag.

OP random men have always felt entitled to comment on the way women look. They believe their opinion will matter to us, stop behaving as if it does. You've had an encounter with an ill mannered dick head stop giving men like him the power to upset you.

MonsterBoo · 10/09/2025 17:58

But negging doesn't mean someone likes or fancies you?!

fatphalange · 10/09/2025 18:28

Just another weak pathetic man looking to give his shitty ego a boost by having a pop at a woman who did nothing but answer her own front door. I can easily understand why that would bring you to tears Flowers
I hope you enjoyed your takeaway. Treat yourself again soon and if you get the same driver, ask him if he’s a (insert your own insult) because he looks like one before shutting the door.

BettyBobble · 10/09/2025 19:19

I'd have said no I'm hungry and here's your tip. Be quicker next time and flicked him two fingers. What a cunt

EverAndEver · 10/09/2025 19:29

I was once sitting in my car at a red light and other car flew into the back of me and smashed my car up.

When I got out of of my car, a bit shaken and sore the other driver said to me ‘oh are you tired, you look tired! Never mind accidents happen!’ Like I had fallen asleep in the middle of the road rather than him be at fault 🙄

Slightly off topic but your post reminded me and I felt rage all over again. 😂 I hope you’re ok op!
