Anyone best way to update GP records?

DC has a health problem and we've a telephone consultation with the GP soon. Problem is DC has zero NHS medical records as we lived outside the UK for a decade (not English speaking) & any treatment since we got back has been via DH's work insurance.
Whats the best way to update the NHS GP records? I've spent a lot of time doing a one page summary of the medical history. Is that a bit fussy? Should I just send in letters/results from the various medics we've unfortunately had to see in the last few years?

If you have correspondence then that's best. Nothing wrong with a written precis but if there is evidence from an overseas doctor or healthcare professional then that's best. Translations would help if not in English.
You may come across a "if it was not don't on the NHS it didn't happen in some surgeries unfortunately.

Yes I've heard this numerous times unfortunately too🙏

Send copies of any documents that you have so that they can be added to your record.

Written evidence from yourself is helpful as a summary but doesn’t “count” as a diagnosis or treatment plan. Medical documentation is better especially if translated.

That's great, thanks very much. I'll do both and cross my fingers...

Csn you ask your private provider to send a summary to gp? Do you have any copies of letters confirming the appointments and treatment. We got notes from tbe overseas surgery to use in uk and used equivalent of redbook for immunisation record .
