To wonder if this is an infection tracking up my child’s foot?

Am I being dramatic? Don’t want to waste the NHS’s resources on a weekend but also don’t want to leave this if it needs attention. DD has what we suspect is something stuck in her foot. She has an appointment to see the nurse on Tuesday to have it removed. Does this look like a line going from the sore bit up her foot? The doctor saw it last week and said there were no signs of infection. I don’t know if I’m just being dramatic or if I should take her to have it looked at now? Really appreciate advice as I have literally no knowledge of this sort of thing. Thanks.

I’ve uploaded another pic which is pending approval, which gives a good view of it, but it’s under review…

Definitely slap a load of drawing paste/mag sulphate on. Won't do any harm. I thought I'd read something recently that they'd stopped making it though?

My son has exactly this in the same spot from wearing no shoes and getting something stuck in the heel of his foot! It tracked up a bit like this. Doctor put on penicillin and we had special plasters to draw what was a giant splinter out. Just be careful it’s not getting worse. We went to our local out of hours service who x rayed to check nothing metal or really nasty went in. My son didn’t complain about it till 5 days after it happened!

There's a cream you can get in pharmacies also to encourage things out that are stuck in the skin. I can't remember the name of it though!

In the US we call it "drawing salve."

Magnesium sulphate paste or you can get plasters that draw out whatever’s in there.

Is it magnesium paste? My grandma used to make a bread poltice which seemed to work but it probably a huge infection risk haha

Yes, it is indeed magnesium paste as LifeOfBriony reminded me. Never heard of using a bread poltice but ya, whatever works! 😃
