AI threads - clever but detectable ?

Am I unreasonable in thinking there are suddenly a lot of AI-written posts that sound like they are trying to use a standard Mumsnet formula and phrasing? They are actually very good matches for the forum, but there is just a certain cadence/feel to them that stands out. ?

Why should I bother to read what you couldn't be bothered to write ?

What?

There's a stand out one running in aibu. Lots of people replying normally and offering advice to a bot. It's unethical really. Are we meant to report them?

Does the one you have in mind have a username with both numbers and letters? Because if it’s that one, it smacks of AI bot to me!!

What?

It's the equivalent of "Did you mean to be so rude" for people who post AI shite.

You're not irrational; even when AI text imitates forum styles, it still exhibits unique patterns. It's obvious from the overly formal structure and cliched wording. Ironically, I use an AI content humanizer from aihumanizer.net/how-does-ai-humanizer-work to enhance the authenticity of my AI drafts for my parenting blog. It adds organic variation and effectively breaks up that robotic cadence. Longer posts require processing time and occasional adjustments, but it actually contributes to the genuine human conversational flow that forums require. However, a personal touch is still necessary!

I actually have an extreme adverse reaction to reading AI.

I know this post above is AI generated, because put simply you'd never speak like this.

If you're talking about a specialist subject of yours then you might be more formal sounding. But generally people have quite a close sounding writing style to how they speak.

My adverse reaction is just that I can't read it, my brain switches off and just doesn't digest the info. I can't explain it but it's just fucking appalling. It's very bad at over using concepts and I don't think the brain can cope with more than one concept in a sentence.
