Really struggling at the moment. My dd is 9, shes got alot of anxiety, separation anxiety and is being assessed for ASD.School is a big issue and is really getting worse with age.She can't cope with changes the school arent alot of help as she masks at school and we get all the fun and games when she's home and can be herself. Anyway, cut a long story short, shes begging and crying not to send her to school anymore and that she wants to be home schooled, shes having so many sleepless nights anxious about it and crying herself to sleep about school too. The school are aware and are basically telling me she needs to be at school and she needs to get used to ut. She has a new teacher this year and the teacher is actually new to the school and shes really not coping with this but school say in secondary school she will need to be used to it as it will be all new teachers e wey lesson.Im so done with seeing my daughter so upset like this crying all the time and being so anxious she can't sleep. What should I do? Please help

To be fair they are right secondary will have lots of new & different teachers. My son has autism & a LD and was like this in primary. It was a nightmare, I put him into a SEN school and hes doing well. Is that an option for you?

In sorry they are being so unhelpful. I agree about looking at other schools if that's a possibility. Can you afford to get a private assessment?

Edit, sorry missed the bit you said she is being assessed. Where in the process are you with this?

Has she spoken about school and her anxiety? Is she being bullied or maybe needs support with the work /lessons?
I had a pal who had dyslexia (diagnosed later) who really struggled with schoolwork.
I had double vision as a child and partial hearing and struggled to keep up, as I kept missing what the teacher said unless I faced them. Later my mum got me support and it became a lot better, but still hard.
I'm sorry to hear she is struggling. Being a child is hard. I hope she is okay xx
