I know of a lady who I used to be friends with she started to look down on me and my daughter, having met a bloke. We were really good friends but her life began to change as did mine. I was struggling on my own however she didn’t work but had a bloke move in not only ripping off benefits but also he dealt drugs
she has done really well in terms of going abroad 4 times a year, nice house now has a great friend group that all holiday together but I know that he is dealing drugs to kids (even worse as she now works part time in a school)
man I jealous? Yes I am as I work 40 plus hours a week can barely afford my monthly shot
iv never reported I feel that would make me bitter but do these people EVER get caught

If you know he's committing crime you should tell the police. Other than that just forget about her and stop looking at her social media.

I don't know how you know what benefits he's on to say he's fraudulently claiming.

I don’t understand why reporting them would make you feel bitter?

Cookingupmyfirstbornson · 01/09/2025 23:43

Find yourself a nice dealer to move in?

Because they have laughed about being reported and nothing happening

I live opposite a bunch of dealers. The wife is a junkie. She’s raving and screaming in the street regularly. Constant deliveries. A minimum of 20 times a day a bike/ car arrives and takes a package from them to deliver. There have been drug gang violence incidents- cars driven into their house, their cars set alight etc, I have reported. Neighbors have reported . The last time the police were there, inside the house, TWO bikes arrived and were met outside by one of them who handed a baggie over from a pack of McCoy’s he was “eating” when he went outside to meet them.
I’m astonished that they can openly deal whilst hosting three officers. I’m astonished that the cops didn’t notice or if they did didn’t care. Reports and video evidence produced is ignored. The whole street are stuck with them. Report as much as you like. Police do nothing.

There’s people like this where I live. They get caught eventually but from what I’ve seen it’s usually a long process for the police and they usually want the ones at the top of the supply chain, probably because if they take them out then the ones that you are describing have nothing to sell when the supply dries up. It’s crazy that everyone knows who’s dealing but they seem to be getting away with it and it’s done so blatantly these days.

In that case just forget they exist and focus on your own life. You don't need to speak to them.

JacquesHarlow · 02/09/2025 00:16

What is holding you back from telling the authorities yourself?

Report the guy anonymously on Crime Stoppers. The thing is his benefits and her part time income don't add up to a nice house and four holidays a year. When they get caught, they'll have difficulty explaining that away especially as they've been showing off on social media. These people aren't very bright, are they?

In the meantime, try not to get frustrated. Yes it's immoral and unfair but at least you have the satisfaction of knowing you earn your income the honest way and not by selling highly addictive substances to vulnerable people and whilst defrauding the benefits system. Also, these drug dealing types mix with some nasty, violent criminals. I wouldn't want to be a part of that world for any amount of money.

My mum used to say 'at least you can live life without having to look over your shoulder' and it's very true.

Thus

Eventually if enough people report concerns evidence will build and they will get on the 'to be raided'.

So much around and kids seeing this as a money making quick 'business'.

It needs more effort to eradicate which takes time and resources. A growing problem though.
