WIBU to buy myself a children's electric toothbrush

.. because they are half the price of the adult ones! And they are the only sort compatible with the same heads that fit dh toothbrush.

I refuse to share dh toothbrush as he doesn't rinse it properly, then leaves it lying in a puddle on the side of the basin 🤢. But I suspect those are the cheapest heads.

The action might be gentler, but if anything that would be a good thing for me.

So - AIBU, and should I go Frozen, Lion King or Spiderman??

I can't find a Frozen one for less than £25 and there are adult ones for that amount and less. If it works for you though then go for it, it's just pictures on a toothbrush.

I've bought children's ones sometimes (like when I've gone away and forgotten my toothbrush). Usually a generic (ie non licensed character) one that's battery rather than rechargeable.
If you go to somewhere like B+M or Home Bargains they cost about 3 quid or so and usually quite cute.

Fantastic, thanks for that tip @Needmorelego - no Disney, more change. B&M here I come!

No point using a sub par electric toothbrush, Oral B make the best brush heads, so you may as well not bother and use a decent manual one.

BloodandGlitter · 25/08/2025 22:18

I think I paid about £10 each for ours from Amazon, all with 6 replacement heads each and chargers.

BloodandGlitter · 25/08/2025 22:21

this is the one we use.

I've been using a Frozen Oral B brush for years with Oral B sensitive heads. My kids weren't using their electric toothbrushes, I needed one - it was a stopgap initially but I'm still using it and my dentist and dental hygienist are happy with my teeth!

I have an Oral B one that cost £20 I buy the wisdom round heads for it, so much cheaper. The dentist told me to use the round wisdom ones to save money I get them from home bargains and they fit exactly.

👍👍 That's worth knowing. Found a good price on the Boots website so I think I 'm sorted.

Thanks everyone for
the many useful tips! 😁<-very clean shiny teeth!

I bought DS9 a Minecraft electric toothbrush and it worked so well I got another for myself 😃

Eenameenadeeka · 26/08/2025 00:45

Lion King

NeverDropYourMooncup · 26/08/2025 02:09

Spiderman, obviously.

Or you just hang on for another three weeks and chances are the adult ones will be on 50-70% off again. I don't think I've ever bought one at full price.

My dentist told me that round heads are the only ones suitable for use with electric toothbrushes (I had just bought a load of replacement rectangular ones!.) Rectangular ones are fine for manual brushing.
