To think that the internet and streaming culture has made everyone way too used to getting things in instalments and updates exactly when they want, and it’s not a good trait?

People expect instant gratification now… whether it’s a new episode dropping, news updates, or responses to messages. I think it’s making us less patient and less able to wait for things or handle delays. Has it made us more entitled or impatient in other areas of life too?

Tell me about it. DH and I run a business, and people often email us for a quote. But if you don't answer back almost immediately, people get incredibly annoyed. "Oh thanks for eventually getting back to us but we've gone elsewhere" sort of attitude. Bearing in mind that even with a photo and rough measurements, we have to guess at overall condition, labour time/costs, materials - it can sometimes take half an hour easily and there are only 2 of us in the office. We're also dealing with on site customers and managing staff/workload. Makes me so frustrated.

Yes, I can see this in myself, the lack of patience. If a webpage doesn’t load immediately I’m instantly getting annoyed! I have to remind myself of the days of dial-up.
