I’ve booked something in 12 weeks and really need to shift some weight, I’m 10 weeks postpartum but I look about 6-7 months pregnant !
thing is I’m breastfeeding so don’t want to make my milk supply drop my dd has tongue tie and struggling to feed off of one side, I’m really fussy with what I eat to and at the moment I mainly just eat crap food !
what’s the best way to shift some of this weight before i get so big im uncomfortable, not sure if my weight but will weigh later, i am also keen on walking however i dont want to get so obsessed with it as i did before !

At just 10 weeks pp and bf-ing, I think health comes first so I would personally not try to lose a lot of weight but instead focus on good nutrition - so switch to healthier food - and appropriate exercise, plus buy an outfit that works for now.

Is there anyone who can help prep healthy nutritious meals and snacks.
I wouldn't be considering a diet.
Replacing crap with healthy snacks will make you feel better.

Healthy diet, with exercise linking into zone 2/3 will do it.

Walk. Do 15-20k steps a day. In your house, up and down your living room, in front of the TV, baby in pram or sling, it all counts.

I had to cut out dairy as ds was intolerant and I was ebf - this meant no cakes, biscuits, ice cream, cheese, milky coffees, creamy sauces etc.

I took a calcium supplement and found the dairy-free rule meant I was requires to make lots of switches so I picked the very healthy ones. And I drank a LOT of water (as also ebf).

I also walked 4 miles every weekday with the pram (school run for dc2) which helped with calorie deficit.

In your case I would consider toning up too - don’t go crazy.

Oh and buy good underwear!!

Cut back on carbs but treat yourself to something nice every week.

Dieting at 10w pp while breastfeeding is not sensible. You need to be fuelling your body for recovery and feeding your baby, not restrictive yourself. And it sounds like you have a history of disordered eating, so that combined with the hormones and mental health challenges of having a newborn sounds like a very bad idea.

Could you just... not? Obviously eat healthy and get plenty of exercise when you can. But accept that you've just had a baby and no-one expects a new mum to look amazing.

When bf-ing this shouldn't be done without medical advice.

I'm guessing OP hasn't got the time or energy for much in the way of exercise. It is actually far more important to change your diet if you want to lose weight.

I am disabled (and can't exercise) and have lost almost 5 stones since October by increasing the vegetables, pulses, nuts, seeds and olive oil I eat and by decreasing carbs like bread and pasta and having more lean meats and fish and less beef, pork and lamb.

One specific thing which I think has made a massive difference is swapping porridge at breakfast for chia seed pudding. Porridge has a reputation for releasing energy slowly and keeping you full for a long time - that was not true for me because I was always starving by 10:30 and invariably had to have a snack. I'm not saying porridge has this effect on everyone but I have discussed it with quite a few friends and some of them also experience this. With chia seed pudding for breakfast, I can happily have my lunch at 1:30 and still not be desperate.

OP, in your shoes, I would focus on health rather than weight loss. Try to swap out a few things for healthier alternatives - so for example a small handful of nuts instead of a biscuit. Maybe one less potato and an extra portion of veg. Or a homemade stir fry (made from packets of ready chopped veg) for example instead of a supermarket lasagne. But nothing too crazy please while you are breastfeeding and your baby is so little still, Looking after your DC's health and wellbeing and your own really are more important than stressing about your appearance. I really hope you enjoy your outing and feel good about yourself. You have created an actual new human!

Absolutely agree with this. Im 6 months post 3rd baby and my weight started to drop off after I started walking about 5miles a day. Summer hols have ruined my routine of walking the school run and pushing the kids around on a pram 🤣
I also tried knocking the afternoon chocolate on the head but I've not quite mastered that yet 👀
