Light streaks of blood 36 weeks pregnant help!

Posting for traffic.

I was induced with my DD so never went into labour naturally.

I'm 36+3, baby measuring an estimated 6lb 7oz already (having growth scans every 4 weeks as DD was small).

Had some painful braxton hicks in the week, in my stomach and through to my back but they eased once I sat on my on yoga/maternity ball.

Saw midwife on Friday and explained about the pain, she felt baby and said she’s pretty sure he’s fully engaged.

Today, I’ve had some light pink streaks on the toilet paper after a wee and backache.

Do I need to get this checked or just ride it out for now? I’m not concerned about movement as he’s been very active today as usual.

Any advice?

May be early labour or just late twinges but ring your maternity unit for any bleeding and see what their advice is

TheChosenTwo · 17/08/2025 19:03

It sounds like it’s probably the mucous plug?

Whatshesaid96 · 17/08/2025 19:04

Give your maternity unit a call and see what they say. They might not be phased but they might want you in who knows. Speak with someone professional than a forum of randoms.

When I had this it was my mucus plug starting to come away. Always get checked out when you have a concern.

WickWood · 17/08/2025 19:06

I'd definitely call maternity triage too, not worth not doing imo.

He's almost certainly getting ready for his arrival, but if you're worried, I'm sure they'd rather you called.

When I had this at 36 weeks my waters went 2 days later

Sounds like start of mucus plug / early labour. Give the labour ward a call if you’re concerned at all. Good luck, very exciting!
