Does anyone else still love nightclubbing on holiday in their 50’s?

I would NEVER go night clubbing at home. It’s probably been 15 years since I was in a club in the UK. However, when I am on holiday, I absolutely love it! I know it isn’t the same. When we go on holiday to all inclusive hotels that have a nightclub I literally dance there until they close. We have just booked a trip to Goa in India And the place that we have booked is really busy with loads of nightclubs and I will definitely be going. But I would never do this at home. I am 55. Is anyone else the same?

I do like a dance when I'm on a cruise. They usually play 70s and 80s music which is my era.

JHound · 17/08/2025 13:13

I love clubbing full stop.

And I am mid 40s. I don’t understand why getting older meets you have to hate clubbing. I just go to different venues now. Also I like EDM and there are always various ages in that scene.

Sounds like my idea of hell.

I’m 53 and haven’t been to a nightclub for almost 30 years and never enjoyed it when I did.

Never and still don’t understand dancing and the point of it.

Dancing is great fun and music and dancing are very good for your mental health and physical health.

I'm surprised you can't see it.

I understand music perfectly well and have played in many bands over the years from the 90s as a guitarist, doesn’t mean I need to throw myself around like a ferret on speed.

I was that ferret 👀🦦 closest looking to a ferret 😄🤣

Whilst I don’t go to clubs when abroad, I do go to lots of bars and stay there until 3-4am. It’s once a year for a week (probably 5 out of 7 nights), with good friends and it’s so much fun. Couldn’t do it in real life though. I’m 45.

I'm in my 50s and I go to clubs fairly often. There isn't an age limit on fun

I’m 48 and haven’t been to a nightclub in years, and can’t imagine anything worse

Same - I am 45 and hate dance music anyway. I used to go when I was younger but feel
like I did enough of that to last me a lifetime. Plus, DH is like Cinderella and needs to be tucked up in bed by midnight otherwise he will turn into a moaning pain in the arse pumpkin!

If OP enjoys it then why not? Similar age to my brother and, if his health allowed, would be in clubs for sure!

Dancing dosent have to be fast.

Newgolddream70 · 18/08/2025 14:37

OP I love this! I carried on clubbing (sounds like a film haha) until I was 49, which was right up until lockdown. I haven’t been since for various reasons but plan to go to Ibiza next year with friends and dance until I drop! Always dancing at home - teenager in the 80s, raved in the 90s and clubbed through the noughties. I would feel too old to go to a nightclub where I live now as mostly students but I would definitely feel less self-conscious or bothered about that if I was on holiday. Might have to voltorol my knees though 😆

Nor me, and neither did I ever understand the appeal of queuing up to pay for the privilege of sustaining irreparable hearing damage.

Gosh that’s really sad to be honest, why would you think the only type of dancing is throwing yourself around like that. Have you never slow danced with a lover, danced around with a group of friends to some fun music, danced with a child in your arms? I do t think I’ve ever thrown myself around like a ferret on speed, but I’ve done everything on my list, from dancing with my husband, to a group of my female friends, to waltzing my daughter around, and none involved throwing myself around like a ferret on speed.
