YANBU

do what you want!

macdoodle · 29/05/2008 20:59

Her usual bedtime is 8-8:30pm but she has to be up at 7am to be ready for school...

Well if you don't mind her seeing Simon's chest then I guess it's ok.

RiojaLover75 · 29/05/2008 21:00

Well I guess you'll find out tomorrow!!! Cue moody tantrums.

macdoodle · 29/05/2008 21:00

She thinks Simon is mean - and when I said I though he was handsome she said she would tell dad (PSML the cheating lying H doesn't live with us)

She'll probably sleep in till 8ish though so will get about the same amount of sleep

i think its ok!not as if its school like you said or every night.
my friend thinks i put my 8 and 7 year old to bed to early-about 8pm(earlier tonight as tired!)
do what you want!!!

Hulababy · 29/05/2008 21:05

Not unreasonable.

A late night once in while doesn;t hurt. 6yo DD has had many a late night in holidays and weekends; never harms her at all. Infact a late night for DD generally guarantees us a lie in - so have o say that it is also for our benefit as well

cheesesarnie · 29/05/2008 21:08

i wish late night for mine ment lie in!were on holiday soon so theyll be late nights, but i can gaurentee we'll be up at 6am ish-lovely for my sisters in next tents!

sunflowervalley · 29/05/2008 21:25

Well my 2 are still up watching up ,trying to irish dance around the living room

cory · 30/05/2008 09:27

My kids have never had moody tantrums just because they stay up late at night. In the holidays they hardly ever go to bed before 10- too much going on with large extended family.

duchesse · 30/05/2008 09:32

Your kid, your call.

I wouldn't think it unreasonable, but if mine had been likely to have a really crabby day the next day I might have said no. Otherwise, 10pm is neither here nor there at half-term afaic.

PeachyWontLieToYou · 30/05/2008 09:33

yanbu

its half term, whu not?

bar the freaky soft porn 'magicians', its rather good tv for the age group.... ds's loved hoop la la

lackaDAISYcal · 30/05/2008 09:45

YANBU.......but then again I won't be dealing with her when she gets up at the same time as usual and is tired and grumpy and impossible all day tomorrow

or maybe that's just my DS who does that?

kslatts · 30/05/2008 09:52

DH took my dd's to see the Ireland match last night and they didn't get home until 11.15pm (they are 8 and 6), but I know they will lay in until about 10am this morning so not really a problem.

ingles2 · 30/05/2008 21:20

No...
ds's are staying up. They're 7 (just) & 8

muggglewump · 30/05/2008 21:38

DD has been up every night this week. She's 6 and it's not half term here.
I see no problem as she still gets 10 hours sleep which is plenty for her

LolaTheShowgirl · 30/05/2008 22:39

My friend let her 9 yr old DS stay up til gone 2am the other night as they were on a night out at the theatre staying in a hotel in the city. Didn't do him any harm

lins1uk · 31/05/2008 00:38

yanbu its totally fine

jasper · 31/05/2008 00:41

YANBU at all x

iliketosleep · 31/05/2008 11:01

I have done exactly the same, dds 6&7 love britains got talent so they have stayed up to watch it all week. Sometimes ds whos 4 joins them but doesnt last till 10-10:30

they will be back to 8pm bedtime sunday night before school though!!!!

movingnow · 26/05/2009 21:56

yanbu however DS was in bed at 19:30 as he is back as school tomorrow (don't ask, private school with odd half term)!

luvoneson · 26/05/2009 22:06

I let my ds age 8 stay up and watch it. It is the school hols after all.

yappybluedog · 26/05/2009 22:12

this thread is a year old

stealthsquiggle · 26/05/2009 22:12

YANBU at all. DS would probably have stayed up but he is another one with strange independent-school half term (v. handy for going away, not that we are) so he was in bed before it started.
