To not go on the off chance we catch a sickness bug

Not sure if i'm massively overreacting so would like others opinions

Me, my son and a friend are due to go away for the weekend tomorrow to a caravan site. Said friend has been in contact with someone today who's partner has a sickness bug. This has really got me panicking as i don't do well with sick at all, i also don't want to be stuck in a caravan with everyone being sick 4hrs from home or to potentially have to try and drive back home with everyone ill. I really don't know whether to cancel the whole thing or risk going. I won't be able to change to a later date and i will lose the money paid but i'm currently sat at home panicking about it

Well that’s not what my GP told me! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think either your GP is an idiot. Or they were talking about a specific virus with an incubation period of that length, not all bugs.

I think it depends what you mean by "been in contact with." If your friend has spent days in the house with this sick person and shared food, that is one thing. If she has just been with the partner of the sick person for a short while then that is another.
The sick person might simply have eaten something thst disagreed with them and not be in any way infectious.
But none of that will reassure you if you truly are over anxious about this ... but, for what its worth, I think you should just go and have fun.

It is only a weekend away not a week or fortnight. Hope you are on your way now OP and that you and your son enjoy the trip.
