Not getting rid of clothes that don't fit

I've attempted to organise my wardrobe. Got a pile to donate to charity, some that are only fit for the bin and now a few old things I wear all the time.

Most of the stuff is just a bit too small to be any good to me, but isn't in a pile to sell or donate! Why am I keeping it in case it ever fits well? Maybe because it's all in better condition because it's hardly (or never) been worn.

Honestly get rid of and arrange what does fit nicely plus create lots of outfits to wear.
If you do end up losing weight you’ll have the fun of buying new clothes.

I've tried many times to be ruthless with clothes that are too small but just not been able to part with them. Finally after years of trying I have lost weight (nearly 4 stone) and those clothes I couldn't part with fit me again. I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe. Now my dilemma is do I get rid of the clothes that have become too big???

My weight fluctuates all the time i have clothes from size 10 to 18 I put the clothes for each size in storage bags and just have the current size in wardrobes one for winter one for summer and if I gain or lose weight I grab that bag out and switch over.

I gave away all my big clothes to charity shop or put it in clothes boxes at the tip.
That way I can't gain weight again without being very uncomfortable. I used to be size 20. I never thought I'd get into anything size 12 ever again yet here I am a size 12.

If you have actual plans to lose weight then it probably makes sense to keep the ones you really like.

I kept all mine plus some I had bought as incentive to slim down. In the end it took decades to rid myself of the inches and the clothes I had treasured were hopelessly lenfasjikned. I have now got rid of all of them and have only clothes that fit me in my wardrobe. I also keep on pair of non stretchy white shorts was my control to ensure I don’t gain it all back again lots of clothes no have some stretch so it’s easy to gain a few pounds and not notice.

Are they hardly/not with because they’ve never really fit or because you didn’t wear them when they did fit? In either case I’d get rid of them, unless you’re actively working towards being that size again. I kept stuff in the hope I would loose weight, by the time I did that the clothes were hopelessly out of date.
