DBro has a DD with a name that rhymes with a name I love (and have always loved) for my DD.

DBro lives abroad and we aren’t very close. DM is very close to us both though. DD and DN would see each other rarely but would know each other, get birthday cards/gifts, and be on group calls.

Names are like Tara/Zara/Clara/Lara, Lily/Milly, Laura/Maura.

Is this too similar? I love this name and would be a bit sad about it :(

It's fine. My son has the same name as my brother which was also my uncle and great uncle's name. It didn't even occur to me not to use it. My Dad had exactly the same name as his Dad. On my DH's side there are cousins who have masculine and feminine versions of the same name. Names often repeat in families over generations or in the same one. You're not even picking the same name, just a similar sound, and the children are not going to see each other often by the sounds of things. Go for it!
