To feel a bit sick when looking at certain celebs?

I have a weird thing where certain people make me feel physically sick/Uneasy. It’s mainly celebrities or people in the public eye.

One example is Jeremy Corbyn. Nothing to do with his politics - it’s something about him.

My latest one is Danny Dyer - especially with a moustache.

Anyone else get this?

Yes he just knocks me sick. Was absolutely gutted that he cropped up in downton abbey.

my partner loves the wire but doesn’t watch it when I’m home because I can’t bear him. I’ve only ever seen him in the affair though.

No, I'm talking about Dominic Cooper (An Education, The Gold etc).
Although for other and not really defensible reasons I dislike Dominic West too!

B1anche · 14/08/2025 10:43

I find Keir Starmer weirdly attractive. Reading this thread, I think i must be in a very small minority!

Eddie Redmayne creeps me out.

Yes. I find him repulsive. It's his lips - they're so big and slack and they're the same colour as the rest of his face. Weird.

Seagullsandsausagerolls · 14/08/2025 10:44

Christiano Ronaldo. So much so I posted on another random thread 😂

Catpiece · 14/08/2025 10:44

Schofield
edited to add Nick Knowles. Terribly unkind face. Eddie Redmayne. Those horrendous spongey lips

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 14/08/2025 10:45

Nish Kumar, so smug and ingratiating.

TaupeMember · 14/08/2025 10:45

😂

I cant unsee that now

smugmugg · 14/08/2025 10:46

@LadyBracknellsHandbagg one of my special talents is finding the animal in a human face. Not particularly a useful talent but hours of funny with my friends 😆

TaupeMember · 14/08/2025 10:46

That was to the grotbags comment!

Sick is a strong word but I really can't stand the faces of Rihanna and Lily-Rose Depp.

When it comes to guys (well...non binary penis-holders), Sam Smith. He looks like he smells. Reminds me of a pig really. A pig in a sequin jumpsuit. No one needs that.

I must protest. Pigs are delightful.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 14/08/2025 10:49

Sandi Toksvig, I cannot abide the woman, her mannerisms, her laugh, her smugness, yuck!

CalzoneOnLegs · 14/08/2025 10:50

@smugmugg i read somewhere once that said Jennifer Anniston looked like a wolf !

BengalBangle · 14/08/2025 10:53

James Corden
David Walliams
Jimmy Carr

CalzoneOnLegs · 14/08/2025 10:53

@smugmugg are fish included in your skill ? So Dominic Cumberbatch would be a hammerhead shark

ThePoshUns · 14/08/2025 10:53

Runforhome · 14/08/2025 08:50

Damian Hurley gives me the creeps.

Yes!

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 14/08/2025 10:54

I get this with Jason Segal (Marshall from How I met your mother)

I have no idea why. He's a decent enough looking bloke, no particularly unpleasant features, and I don't find either the character or actor annoying.

But there's something about him that just makes me shudder, and for some reason it's particularly bad whenever he's eating something.

CalzoneOnLegs · 14/08/2025 10:55

@Catpiece yes NK looks like he needs a facial, deep clean, steam and peel off mask and a shave looks, like his pores are full of black stuff.

smugmugg · 14/08/2025 10:56

@CalzoneOnLegs benedict cumberbatch is infamously an otter although the eyes do give shark.

I think Britney Spears & Halle Bailey (from live action Little Mermaid) give strong hammerhead energy.

I feel the same about J Corbyn.
Plus, every time I look at him, I remember the picture I have seen of his extremely large childhood home. Then I remember he went to private school.
I know he can't help his privilege.
All the same, I can't help perceiving him as dishonest. He looks like a complete fake to me.
This isn't a politics thread.
I simply can't bear the look of the man.

CalzoneOnLegs · 14/08/2025 10:58

@smugmugg im genuinely laughing so much at otter 😂😂😂

Gone off meat is a perfect description 👌 his complexion is that of a corpse....

up North its called a ‘pie sheen’ caused by a diet of a pie and a pint,
no fresh fruit or veg.,
never sees bright sunlight
crepuscular

Elaine Page, Ed Milliband, Paddy McGuinness and Rob Beckett for me. Probably loads more but definitely those four off the top of my head.

I used to feel this way about Susannah York as well when I was a kid. I've no idea why but something about her just gave me intense feelings of dislike. She always looked smug and affected and very up herself to me.

Oh and I've just remembered the worst one of all. John McCririck. He used to make my skin crawl and I found myself pulling a face like I'd just smelt something very bad every time I saw him speaking. His mannerisms and the way he moved his hands with all those chunky gold rings on every finger made me recoil in disgust.

Oh I’d forgotten about John McC yes he was loathsome.

i also can’t stand John Inverdale. Creepy voice, creepy eyes, utterly talentless, could never understand how he got jobs commentating on sports he obviously knew nothing about. Thank goodness he seems to have finally fallen out of favour.

And Jacob Rees-Mogg!! Visceral shivers at his closet mincing around while having far too many children to prove his manliness. Uuuurrgghhh

smugmugg · 14/08/2025 11:00

Jennifer Anniston's nose is too soft for wolf for me. Don't see much animal in her

Flamingoknees · 14/08/2025 11:00

Slightyamusedandsilly · 14/08/2025 09:34

Oh! And Johnny Depp. And I thought he was gorgeous when he was Jack Sparrow. But now? 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Yes! This one is bizarre, as I adored him for decades.
I've realised finding out something negative about someone can totally change how I see them in terms of physical attractiveness too. Even looking back at old pictures, from when they were my heart throb.

CalzoneOnLegs · 14/08/2025 11:01

@smugmugg probably her eyes, but it was an unusual comment at the time when she was considered the most beautiful woman of all time
