Found out a bullying senior manager at work has been telling lies about me behind my back

She is being vindictive because I didn't do something she wanted me to do (I didn't do it for good reason).

How do I wreak revenge?

(Workplace is unionised so I could just do a grievance but I'd rather something with more flair)

I’ve no idea if this is the case, but from the title my mind jumped straight to the NHS / nursing 🥲

I usually go straight for the jugular and tackle them head on about their lies.
with an audience for good measure.

This is definitely an option. She (obviously because these folks are all the same) doesn't just bully me but everyone else she has done it too has silently moved on. I'm not embarrassed to make a giant, setting everything else out scene.

Revenge? How old are you? It’s a workplace not a bully playground.

Avocadocream · 13/08/2025 22:47

I’d grow up tbh

Yeah it is a bully's playground she's been doing this unchecked for years. Enough.

Get all your ducks in a row first, make sure there is no way she can squirm through a hole and escape. It is not remotely unreasonable for you to strike back when someone is using their power and position to bully others, and is lying to control the narrative. I think you're brave. Let us know how it goes.

Grow up. Wow.

Soaking a chair you know they’re going to use is a good locker room level one. So they have a wet bum all day.

Beautifully clear notes so you know you’re rock solid, then calling out the lies in front of a suitable audience is another.

But sadly, for these people, a slam dunk written grievance is probably the way to go. Anything else puts you at more risk than them.

Without reading beyond the OP....this has to be NHS!

Go for it. Call it out. Clearly and calmly. “That’s not true is it” or “what you actually said was”…

Diarygirlqueen · 14/08/2025 08:15

Make sure there's no comeback for you and get your ducks in a row.
I'm one of them people that let it go quietly, I'm not assertive and weak. I admire people like you, stand up to her on behalf of people like me.
