I have my birthday coming up and hope you wise ones can help me out.. I usually don't do much and feel deflated so have decided to take matters into my own hands but have no idea what to do or how to celebrate it ..
I have the day off work for it but also have my 3 young children at home for the day and eve so plans must include them
No partner
Budget £50
Weather looks ok
No car or transport but live in a city with things going on and have a couple of good local pubs near by
No friends or family to see on the day

Please hit me with some birthday ideas so I don't spend another birthday feeling shit!!

Probably depends what city if you don’t have transport. Let the kids choose you a cake though!

As per PP, it depends on the city. I like the 'be a tourist in your own town' approach. Is there somewhere you've not been? My city seems to have tonnes of free/cheap activities aimed at families in art galleries, theatres, museums. Try something you wouldn't normally do?

Love the cake idea and have an easy lunch of picnic things or McDonald's etc.

Big park you don't normally go to,, picnic (with a mini celebratory bottle of something special for you!), take a ball. Relax and spend the day. They get tired so will go to bed on time, you have a takeaway.

Cineworld has £1 a ticket movies at the moment. I take popcorn and drinks with me.

Museums have deals on, especially if you are on Universal Credit, can get in for £1 for a year at the London Transport Museum in London.

Go swimming! Picnic after.

Go to the woods. Walk (with bikes and scooters), play in the park, scooter.

Do a spa day at home if the kids are old enough

Take the kids to a shop with a bit of everything (my two love Home.Bargains) give them a budget to buy you a gift, reslly interesting to see what they buy you. They choose the cake.

Art galleries my kids love, what piece of.art do you like the best, which one do you dislike the most?

Treasure hunt- make a little list with pictures on of a leaf, a stick, a pinecone, an interesting stone, etc. Stick to a paperbag, kids have to find all the items for birthday cake.

Buy one of those treasure trails that you can get for a town near you (£10).
Not sure on ages of 'young kids' but is there any nice cafes where you could treat yourself to lunch that does cheapish kids dishes? Or buy an adult portion to share between them?
Else meal deal sandwiches and picnic in the park.

I'd go for fish and chips at the seaside with little ones, always been one of my favourite things to do :)

Children are 9, 7 and 5.
Love the idea of a picnic and cake
We have tons of free museums on our doorstep and an art gallery
I would welcome a glass of fizz too 😊
Thankyou for the ideas
