Is anyone else freezing cold despite it being summer?

Just that really. I feel like I can’t warm up at all tonight and been the same a lot this week in particular. Jaw is so sore with TMJ, joints all hurt and I just feel so cold. In bed with a hot water bottle and a warm tea yet still so cold 🥶 Anyone else the same?
Am I being unreasonable thinking it’s too cold for being summer? (To be clear I know I can’t do much about it even if I am being unreasonable so it’s semi-lighthearted, semi-wanting to feel less alone in my coldness)

I often feel bone cold when I have a fever and felt like that with Covid too.

Temperature wise it’s absolutely not cold here. But I’m south coast England and so have slept in shorts, cami and fan on!

Jaw pain is the worst though. Have you tried the ibuprofen with codeine in for it - it really helps me.

I think where you live is the answer. My family live in Scotland on the east coast and they are cold. I’m SW England and it’s too warm for fires etc and it’s really hot overnight. Our house with windows and all bi folds open etc is sitting in mid 20’s in evenings. My mum is lighting fires and freezing and says it’s wet and windy.

Might be worthwhile saying where you are in the country or the thread gets really confusing

So
Kent here

We have single glazing and hay for insulation and the windows open and I’m still too warm. We open the curtains at night to cool the house down
I m amazed some of you are cold and wondering if you all have a vitamin deficiency. Low B12 is well known to result in people feeling cold

I agree.

Nearly all the "it's too hot" and "I hate summer" threads are from posters living in London and the South East and who are unable to understand that us northerners often don't enjoy the same weather that they do.

Having said that, this year we have had some hot weather, but our reservoirs are now only 40 full and we have had a hosepipe ban for several weeks.

The last few weeks have been warm rather than hot though.

Faineante · 10/08/2025 09:20

The OP has said where she is …

RampantIvy · 10/08/2025 09:50

Yes, I know, but replies saying "it's hot where I am" aren't helpful either.

@givingyoufirstshotok sounds like covid, just had exactly your symptoms

DeirdreChambersWhatACoincidence · 10/08/2025 09:53

I'm in the Highlands on holiday and it's awful. Rain and cold. Where I actually live is having up to 31c this week of course.

youreactinglikeafunmum · 10/08/2025 09:57

I will never complain about the cold 😄 but yeah last night I tried turning the heating on for dd

Turns out it isnt working, but thats another issue 🙄

The thing is, it will be hot going into september and October, which ruins the autumn

Edenmum2 · 10/08/2025 10:05

No, I’ve got the fan on and I’m sweating. It’s 23 degrees in my bedroom

cheezncrackers · 10/08/2025 10:10

I think you sound ill too if you need a hot water bottle. The weather in the west of Scotland isn't good though, not like it is down south.

YetanotherNC25 · 10/08/2025 10:15

I’m up north but not in Scotland and was sat out in a beer garden last night. Definitely not cold. And the house was like an oven when I got home.
My DC has just had Covid again, we suspect he caught it on a plane last week. His symptoms were similar to yours. Wrap up warm and hope you’re feeling better soon.

You sure that’s not down to the whiskey 😁🥃

HappydaysArehere · 10/08/2025 10:39

Yes when indoors but warm outside.

@MOGHelpwe must be in different bits of the country! High today was 16°C but currently 11°C. Glad it’s warm for someone though 😄 Enjoy it!

Oh that's probably why ,it was 10 degrees warmer where I live, we caught the sun sitting out yesterday.

Meggie2008 · 10/08/2025 11:05

Also in South West Scotland, we had the bedroom window open during the night and the summer duvet on. Definitely not cold!

Zov · 10/08/2025 11:44

No. Warm as toast I am.
