I reckon not tho

I did not come here the other day to moan about him as I reckoned I would be told to 'get a life'......

but

DH is now looking over my shoulder, having a good old snipe() about MN, and telling me I am all about telling the world (MN) about everything that goes on in our household...

I say not..........

I tell him that I could have complained about saturday, yet did not

he asks why

I say...."well, they could have all told me I was being unreasonable, yet I know that I wasn;t, so I do not complain unless I know I am right....."

He is now on a bet tho....he reckons if I tell the truth about saturday I will be told IAU......and he will be fine....

I say not.....
soooooo

here goes....

saturday....DS1's b/day.....we are planning on pressies, dancing for the girls, DS1's best friend coming round for the day, and then dinner out at TGI fridays.

all goes to plan, until the girls come home from dancing, and then DH gets in a shit about hw much money this is all costing...I reckon it os about normal for a birthday, I have spent some, he has spent some, he is spending on the meal....

he moans.....

I argue back, DD1 argues backs, he storms off, we follow ((yes, I and DD1 BU)), and then we get all crappy and I tell him to leave.....((not my best moment, but we have this on every single fucking birthday))

anyway.....

we go, he is over the strop, e too, we go and have fun, and then it comes to puddings and I tell them that we will go home via the shops and buy them lots icecream and sweeties and make lots of puds to their choices.....they are happy.
sooooooo
we go
and DH, while shopping see's a mini beer fridge.......for £80....and buys it

now......hos choice to buy, it will help (keeps my wine too), and I am not be-grudging him anything, his money and all that.....tis just after all the fuckin moaning and threats to leave, why on earth then fork out 80soddin£ on a fridge we don't need????????????????

SO

AIBU

(please be on my side.....)

HUFF YOU ANBU

Alambil · 29/05/2008 00:39

um... NO!

He needs to wake up - a birthday at TGI's is expensive, but to moan about it and then WASTE nearly £100 on a fridge that he does NOT need is totally stupid and really rather .... stupid.

So, Mr Psycho, the world says - Mrs P is NOT unreasonable ... you are

How's that for solidarity? (PS, I mean it though!)

madamez · 29/05/2008 00:39

Well if he bought a fridge then it's obvioulsy not money worries that are making him grumpy. Does he have issues about birthdays in general?

S1ur · 29/05/2008 00:39

I think yabothBU to bring this all up on your ds' birthday. Next time get your arguing done beforehand and then you might enjoy more of the birthday.

I'm not sure about all this his money my money stuff tbh. our money comes in and people just spend on what they need and want but then we're not extravagant anyway.

It is odd of him to complain about money spent on your dcs then buy a pretty frivilous gadget. (even at a knockdown price )

The nice bits of the birthday sound lovely btw, happy birthday to your ds!

OverMyDeadBody · 29/05/2008 00:39

YANBU

(although it may be time to cut back on your MN habit )

ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 29/05/2008 00:40

I'm on your side

If you complain about too much money being spent, don't then go forking out on something unnecessary. End of.

S1ur · 29/05/2008 00:43

ahhh.

new thought.

Perhaps.... (looks sternly at pyschoman) he had his eye on the fridge for aaaagggeees then saw the opportunity to have it while cash was being spent seemingly freely and covered by complaining about expenses first to make it seem like he was actually quite thirfty.

S1ur · 29/05/2008 00:44

scuse typos my wine is too warm. if only i had a way of keeping it cool. sigh.

Psychomum5 · 29/05/2008 00:45

....fanks....

now, as to the argueing on birthdays...I don;t...please listen....I LOVE BIRTHDAYS!!!!

he however, gets in a grump, each time

maybe he is jealous, or maybe he gets all 'rarghry' cos of the cost etc......dunno

I do know tho that he should not moan and then spend money.....

I just wish that moaning was saved for before or after, not on the day, and especially not on the day when he then spends extra on!!!!

he must have had pre-PMT......

Psychomum5 · 29/05/2008 00:47

lol slur.....reckon you may be right.....he did steer us to sainsburys rather rapidly when I suggested icecream bought from the shop....

OP posts:
S1ur · 29/05/2008 00:50

Right then. Mrpsycho

ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 29/05/2008 00:51

Lol

Maybe he just hates birthdays and when he saw the fridge had forgotten about his earlier rant. I always go a bit weird a few days before my b'day......love everyone elses though - life and soul of the party then.

Psychomum5 · 29/05/2008 00:53

slur.....PMSL.....

love it....mr psycho however, he may not

OP posts:
Psychomum5 · 29/05/2008 00:54

plus...itsnotonly....maybe....he may in fact hate birthdays!!!

he does get irate around his

maybe it is to do with the feeling of getting older then....????

OP posts:
Alambil · 29/05/2008 00:55

Or he's just being a mardy git and using birthdays as a convenient excuse?

Psychomum5 · 29/05/2008 01:00

am still wondering about PMT TBH....

OP posts:
VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/05/2008 01:03

You both sound utterly ridiculous no offence

Honestly!

Sounds much like tit for tat.

ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 29/05/2008 01:03

In that case I can kind of understand how he feels. I get really down, sad and plain pissed around my b'day.

Still no excuse for buying the fridge though!

ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 29/05/2008 01:05

PMT?
Another excuse for the men to stay in bed.

Alambil · 29/05/2008 01:08

but it wasn't HIS birthday - no excuse for mardiness on DC birthday IMO

Psychomum5 · 29/05/2008 01:10

hey....VVV....this was saturday...he was shitty, I was fine.....then!!!

NOW I am moaning, cos he reckons I moan too much but for that issues, I would have been proven wrong......

sooooo

solidarity for woman-kind please.....

((or pretend please))

OP posts:
ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 29/05/2008 01:12

Point taken LF. Could never be grumpy on my child's birthday.

Solidarity restored for Psycho!

Psychomum5 · 29/05/2008 01:15

see....I knew I was right!!!!

OP posts:
ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 29/05/2008 01:17

And Psychomum aren't you on another thread telling us all that you've just had great 'you know what'?!

What's with all this moaning then? Get back to it!

Or did DD's throwing up spoil the mood somewhat? Hope she feels better soon.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 29/05/2008 01:20
