Embarrassing Bathroom Disaster

DebsA1 · 09/08/2025 10:39

This is embarrassing. I have a husband who spends 30 minutes + in the morning having a poo with a cup of tea and his phone.
I have chronic digestive issues including IBS.
I have sudden bad attacks which always seem to coincide with his bathroom interlude. I have had some very embarrassing incidents. Sudden and no warning. He’s not a nice man anyway and his advice is keep a bucket by the bed, not I’ll spend less time in the loo.
AIBU about this?

Taking your phone into the loo is such a horrible habit

…and a cup of tea! 🤮

id leave him for that alone!

I had a quick search (to check this wasn’t a throwaway poo troll name - there is one about these parts!) and I can see you are 75 and this is your third marriage and you don’t get on with DH in general.

So LTB isn’t as straightforward as if you were 35 and working and could more easily afford somewhere on your own.

But you are definitely not BU.

He is still a selfish, unhygienic dickhead. I’d be giving HIM a bucket. In the shed.

Nasty fucker. I'm sorry. I don't care how old you are, you shouldn't be trapped with that man.

Your digestive issues might resolve if you expelled this monstrous shit from your life.

Hilarious and true

Pollqueen · 09/08/2025 14:32

He sounds horrible but if you don't want to or can't leave him, a second loo is the answer

Sugarpopsicle · 09/08/2025 14:33

Another poo post 🤔

Driftingawaynow · 09/08/2025 14:34

Being single is fucking awesome, just saying

beAsensible1 · 09/08/2025 14:37

your husband has suggested you shit in a bucket. Rather than get off the loo….

you know what the answer is

Sunflower1667 · 09/08/2025 14:46

Another one?

Third poo post of the day

Edited

There does seem to be a positive MN epidemic of people shitting themselves in various outlandish scenarios. I do hope it isn't catching...

BrentfordForever · 09/08/2025 15:02

OP wake up half hour earlier and stay in there for 45mins+

do it every morning for a week

get his bucket ready ….

DebsA1 · 09/08/2025 17:48

Because I’m 76 and have nowhere to go and no money.

Driftingawaynow · 09/08/2025 18:28

In that case, there’s only one thing for it. Laxatives for him and lots of them.

DebsA1 · 10/08/2025 11:18

I’m making plans. Enough is enough.

Speak to Age Concern. He is abusing and humiliating you, as well as being a disgusting pig. Who takes a cup of tea into the toiilet?

I am sure that the anxiety about his behaviour makes your bowel issues worse and that if you could get rid of him, you would feel much better.

Does your husband has any money? If so, if you split up, you would probably be entitled to half of it. Do you have any state and/or occupational pensions?
