You are still consuming more calories than you are burning I'm afraid. That's the scientific fact. Are you tracking what you are consuming, by the gram?

Maltybiscuit · 07/08/2025 16:00

It always comes down to nutrition , calories in calories out.
Maybe you could give an example of what you're eating and drinking and people could advise ?

Are you drinking enough water 2/3 litres a day ?

Stopandlook · 07/08/2025 16:01

I think you have to stick to it for 8 weeks before you’ll notice a difference as lots of things affect your day to day weight. Keep it up!

Thaawtsom · 07/08/2025 16:02

"cut loads out": what are you eating, though? I would disagree with PP about a simple calories in / calories out equation, but do agree that knowing what you are eating makes a difference. Are you drinking water and eating enough fibre? Good places to start.

Poisonwood · 07/08/2025 16:02

My weight can fluctuate a huge amount depending on where in my cycle I am. It’s also finding a balance, so yes Greek yoghurt is far better for you as a snack than a bar of milk chocolate but if you have the same total calories of both it wouldn’t show up as weight loss…so has the “cutting out” you’ve done swung to more healthier, but also calorific, choices? Try keeping a food diary for a while? And drink lots of water.

That, OP, is the reality

I agree this will come down to tracking every grain of food you eat including butter, oil, dressings etc. it makes a massive difference.

What are you eating?

Tagyoureit · 07/08/2025 17:04

How much weight do you want to lose?

You need to track your calories, and all your calories. You need to weigh food before you consume it. You will be surprised at what you think is your normal portion of say, pasta and what 75g of dried pasta actually looks like.

Im not being mean as the pasta measurement was a real eye opener for me!

Have you worked out how many calories you should be consuming?

Also, drinking calories, what are you drinking? Alcohol? Stupid things frappe latte whatevers are loaded with shit and sugar. Do you have sugar in your tea? How much milk?

Salad is great but what dressing are you using?

It really does all add up.

Ive used the Fast 800 previously with success but it was really hard and just cannot expect instant results, 2 weeks isn't that long when you've spent 5, 10 or 15 years of not paying attention to what you eat.

Also your weight goes up and down throughout the month, its natural, normal and theres no point fighting it.

Make sure youre drinking enough water, getting enough sleep and getting enough fibre.

Food prep can also be really helpful so youre not reaching for the easier, unhealthy snacks.

And what i will say is, you fancy a chocolate biscuit that is 90 calories, have the 1 biscuit and enjoy it! So many times ive craved the 1 90 calorie biscuit but ive ended up eating an apple, a cheese string, a rice cake and then caved, and had the biscuit too so 260 calories later, 🤦‍♀️!! I can make a much more filling mushroom omelette for 260 calories!

I used My Fitness Pal for calorie tracking and I got fine with it as you can scan barcodes. They may be better or easier ones but find what suits you.

I also am trying to lose weight at the moment and it can be so discouraging when you don't appear to have lost any. For me, my weight is coming off slowly, but some weeks it looks as though I haven't lost any at all. It depends on what time of day I weigh myself, what I'm wearing (if anything) whether I have recently been to the loo, when I last did a poo, whether I did a poo yesterday, when I last ate - all those things and more.

Leave it another couple of weeks and, in the meantime, try to calculate how many calories you think you are eating per day at the moment. As everyone has been saying, you need to eat fewer than you need in order to lose weight. The bigger the deficit the quicker you will lose weight but quick is not necessarily good. It's not sustainable, for one thing. As long as you have a deficit, however small that is, you will lose weight, but it will take some time.

ChildFreeAndOhSoHappy · 08/08/2025 00:30

2 weeks is really not enough time to tell. Plus if you are about to start your period your weight can fluctuate a lot, mine does. Also, like everyone said, you are likely eating way more than you think you are calorie wise.

SouthernNights59 · 08/08/2025 00:32

You have to stick to it, sometimes it takes a few weeks then suddenly the weight will drop.

remarkablecauliflower · 08/08/2025 01:37

Keto diet. The weight will fall off. It doesn’t even feel like a diet.
