well, the last month or two ive been saving hard as im just about to quit my job, to become a sahlb

me and dh have earnt good money over the yeras but have really lived it up.
i booked a v expensive holiday, a few months ago, booked it on a whim tbh, and also to get out of a childless wedding those that read the thread know what im talking about

anyhow the last two months, ive been saving hard and econamising and im doing well, i even cleaned the car today in the car with a sponge and some washing up liquid

but now i feel like i should of saved the money ive spent on this holiday, oh well i suppose i should just try and get it into my head its paid for so enjoy it i guess! but still feel like i should of saved it

I have put a link to next years holiday a bit further down. I did two postings.

Your holiday this year looks lovely - I certainly wouldn't even think of cancelling that! Your DD should be easy as well this year - its when they start walking around and wanting to be entertained in the searing heat that it gets difficult!

You have to pay once they are two (if you can't get a free place) - but at least they get a seat on the plane and baggage allowance!

BTW we are in Stafford and when we tried to get a free place for last two weeks in July 2009 - the only airport with free places left was East Midlands (Birmingham and Manchester flights had all been taken). So you can't really delay. In fact we are flying from East Midlands this year for the same reason. We booked this years holiday last May.

I always go on the internet to get the cheapest price, print the page out and then go into the local Thomson shop. They always match the price no problems.

My DS's always have an afternoon nap on holiday - even the four year old.

You will probably be able to push your litte one around in the pushchair and then when she's asleep park her under some shade for a couple of hours.

We always nap ours for a good couple of hours eg 2-5 and then keep them up late (10.30ish) that way you get some time on holiday as well.

It may be worth investing in a Shade a Babe UV suncover for your pushchair as it blocks out all the sun's rays and makes it dark in there as well. We used one last year when DS2 was 18 months and it worked a treat (although only at nap time - he wasn't keen on being covered in at other times of the day).

BTW - in answer to your previous question we always go minimum of half board but have an apartment so we can store milk in the fridge (and wine and beer!) also you have a kettle so you can make yourself a cup of tea while you are getting ready. Plus there is more room for the children to play and it avoids them getting cabin fever!

On holiday - DH takes DS1 (aged 4) back up to the room for a nap (actually they both have one as DH can't stand too much heat!)

I ususally push DS2 (aged 2) around in his pushchair and get him to sleep for as long as I can!
