Does this message mean my iPhone has called emergency services? Stressed!

The siren noise happened when I was clutching my phone after it fell between the seat and door in the car. It had the siren noise for around a second then I panicked and pressed cancel.

Since then I’ve had this notification on my phone …

I think you can safely assume that there was no call then.

Of course we’re now all intrigued as to what you were saying….. or doing…. In the car that you’re worried someone else heard…

Yes this happened to me recently and I got a call from the police checking I was ok, my screen had gone off and I was pressing all the buttons trying to get it back on , didn’t know this would happen.

I had that too. Black screen of death and was trying to do the fancy pants reset where you press the side buttons in a particular order.

Only I messed up and called the emergency services … and I’d turned the volume down so I couldn’t hear them until I’d fiddled with the buttons more.

When I could finally hear and it dawned on me what I’d done, I explained and the operator said I had to end the call. I told her I couldn’t, the screen was completely black and she kept repeating I had to be the one to end it, over and over. In the end, she finally did end the call.
