It just makes me feel really small and pathetic when people post it in response to something I've said. .

Maybe I am being oversensitive. Maybe others who feel like me should help me start a support group? MNers Against Nasty And Gratuitous Emoticons (M.A.N.A.G.E). I'll be chairman.

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 28/05/2008 20:14

is absolutely the bitchiest one ever.

If there is a real ding dong going on and someone makes some utterly scathing and ice cold hard post and follows up with a ,

well then I always go "oooooooooooooooooh" back here in RL.

Squack · 28/05/2008 20:15

piss off does it there'd be mutiny

doncha know we're all bitches

Squack · 28/05/2008 20:15

x post

georgiemama · 28/05/2008 20:17

no hugs and hearts please, this isn't bounty or netmums ta very much. I wish we had more emoticons, hmm is listed as "sceptical" in the key to the right of me as I write, but I think it is short hand for "what the fuck are you on? Are you quite mad?" It is when I use it anyway.

scottishmummy · 28/05/2008 20:17

what about a barfemoticon or a F*ck off thta should raise some blood pressure and faces

Teuch · 28/05/2008 20:19

I have seen ones on other sites for ROFL which literally roll along the page...made me a bit tbh!

I don't really like the it is a bit insincere and insipid...

God forbid we get a huggy one

LynetteScavo · 28/05/2008 22:01

We difinately need a vomit emoticon.

Are you reading this a MN Towers?

IorekByrnison · 28/05/2008 22:59

I hate it too. As has been discussed on here before, you can usually replace it with the phrase "you cunt" and barely change the sentiment.

Agree with slubberdegullion about too.

scottishmummy · 28/05/2008 23:19

God some of the posts would be more intereseting if the expletives/derisory comments increased!

i interpret as
Nope not on yer nelly what the feck

Pan · 28/05/2008 23:23

the emocion IS the most misunderstood. It simply means "have you seen the size of that feckin' big spider up there?". Or, "Aren't you tall?" Or "I think I've got something in my eye". See?

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 23:25

I like it. Sometimes is the only response. I'd like a  too.

berolina · 28/05/2008 23:37

I usually use against myself. I don't think I've ever directly used it in response t another post.

berolina · 28/05/2008 23:38

LOL Pan. I could be using it for 'Aren't you tall?' for most posters - I am a shortarse.

gracepaley · 28/05/2008 23:42

It's my favourite one. I like its world view. I find this one much more vipery.

berolina · 28/05/2008 23:44

hello Grace! Sorry I have been so utterly crap recently. Was thinking of you today and thinking I must get in touch - I am generally crap atm. How are things?

gracepaley · 28/05/2008 23:47

{really fantastic. She only has 2 rituals left, unbelievable progress, we are a bit stunned. I should update thread actually but we have been too busy sitting about with and faces watching her LIVE. Hope you are feeling perkier darlin.}

/end hijack.

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 23:48

I like the idea of using them to mean different things.

I have nice teeth.

I like gobstoppers.

My boiler has broken.

I am a wasp.

I am out of breath.

berolina · 28/05/2008 23:48

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 28/05/2008 23:49

UnquietDad · 28/05/2008 23:51

Pan · 28/05/2008 23:51

berolina · 28/05/2008 23:51

IorekByrnison · 28/05/2008 23:53

Maybe: "Help! I've had an accident with the chip pan and singed off one of my eyebrows"
