HI,

I've not been well, but think I had a mild dose of covid for a finish. coming out of it now, but last week I had a high heart rate, but bp was normal.
after a round of bloods, all look normal enough to my uneducated eye, but my iron levels are low and this one in particular is concerning me.

Troponin I <3.0 is that bad, I only got the results in the post this evening and hadn't a chance to ring the gp which I will be doing this morning.

would anyone on here know. please

Why do you think it is a worry? I’m pretty sure all it means is that you haven’t had a heart attack.

TEARELBO · 05/08/2025 19:23

Dr Google was saying that elevated levels indicated hart damage
i’m a massive worry wart

You need the units of measurement and that labs normal range to interpret it. They’d have told you (probably after admitting you) if it was a problem.

“ < 3” usually implies it is undetectable, in other words completely normal as not there. Troponin is released by damaged heart muscle such as during a heart attack

caveat: what is the unit used?

The < in that direction means it’s lower than 3.

ApiratesaysYarrr · 05/08/2025 21:12

If it says that it means that the troponin level is below the lowest detectable by the test. It's negative i.e normal.
Strange test for a GP to order, but it's negative

It didn’t give a unit
bit but I appreciate all the answers
and in hindsight common sense would dictate that the hospital wouldn’t have let me out if I was having a heart attack.
i probably do suffer from menopause symptoms and anxiety making me worry unnecessarily
thank you
