Tiny feet problems. Can anyone help?

My daughter is 19 and takes UK size 13 shoes.

Until now she has got by wearing trainers, Converse and DMs but she's heading towards the world of work (currently at university) and would just really prefer to have a wider range of footwear choices. Especially when it comes to going out

I'm aware of Pretty Small Shoes but some of the styles aren't really suitable - she doesn't want to wear heels - but there still isn't much choice and they're quite pricey!

Tbh, it's a bit of a nightmare!

Does anyone have any creative (but realistic) suggestions??

Thanks.

Places like next tend to have just smaller versions of the women’s shoes and boots in their kids section. They have a huge range…What kind of shoe is she after?

Thanks for the suggestion. When I've looked at Next before, the children's shoes have been very little girly - eg sandals with wide straps and appliqué butterflies. Or just look like school shoes or little girl party shoes.

I'll take another look. Maybe it's changed since she was little!

I don't think she knows what she's looking for really. Loafers, ballet flats? I don't know. Just a starting point really!

Have a look at school shoe sections in decent shoe shops.

They will have loafers and brogues etc

Some great choices there but she's a 13. Can go to a 13.5 (so 30/31 EU sizes) but size 1 is too big. All the choice was for size 1 and above.

They had two pairs of slippers in her size and nothing else!

Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll definitely keep an eye on them!

Just arghhh though! 🙃

We had a look at some today. They're still very childish. Her size falls in to the age 4-7 years range so these are the ages the shoes are aimed at.

Shoes from online store Diana Ginza have tiny shoes but I think they start at 20.5cm.

Also try dance shoes that can be re-soled to convert them into street shoes.

I’m size 2 so I feel your daughter’s pain.

GINZA DIANA GLOBAL WEBSHOP - Japanese women’s shoe store

DIANA Co., Ltd. is a Japanese women’s shoe store that sells fashionable shoes women.GINZA DIANA

Thanks. I'm only a 3 myself and that's hard enough because many shoes labelled a 3 are based on EU size of 36 and are too big (more like a 3.5).

But this is on another level!! 😁

Aww bless her, I’m a small size 3 and that’s bad enough.

I’ve bought shoes, sandals and trainers from Geox girls section in the past, they have quite a few styles that aren’t glitter etc.

Schuh have some leopard print ballet pumps this season, i was also in next getting school shoes for my kids earlier and spotted these which are while cool: www.next.co.uk/style/su537130/au4394?dp=a&dndl=1&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22109078323&gbraid=0AAAAADm_5UVfJHI1mmCgplVlW0ZS4eIIB&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuNih9pH0jgMVQpBQBh1GPg_BEAQYGSABEgKaEfD_BwE#AU4394

Are there any Japanese shoe places small enough?

My mum has size 2 feet and complains about that, 13 must be so hard

Cedrabbage · 05/08/2025 18:12

Have a look at Zara - some shoes I'd wear in their older girls section

itsabeautifuldayjuly · 05/08/2025 18:14

For Oxfords, look for boy’s dance shoes (ballroom or character). You will have to get proper (non leather) soles on them. but otherwise they should be fine (my 9 year old is a size 13 and dance obsessed…)

itsabeautifuldayjuly · 05/08/2025 18:16

I just had a look at girls’ ballroom/salsa shoes, there are some nice ones. lowish block heels obviously

roshi42 · 05/08/2025 18:22

I just put in girls size 13 boots on Next app and there’s westerns, DM, ugg styles… all in black and brown and adult looking. Depends what she’s after but honestly I think there’ll be something there!

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 05/08/2025 18:31

Agree there seems to be lots of the next website including these loafers in matt and patent...

Gosh I’m sorry. The computer said a UK 13 is a 32, which is why I mentioned them.

As size 9-er she has my sympathies. It isn’t easy.

LemonLadder · 05/08/2025 18:35

I think work shoes are relatively easy. These are available in a 13 junior. It is going out shoes which is the biggest challenge.

They’re both adult sized 13

I’m a fellow tiny foot person! Tesco children’s school section are my formal one go too, h and m have a decent selection (some ridiculous stuff) but a lot of plain not obvious children’s ones. A pp suggesting dance shoes is great for when you need really formal ones and worth keeping in mind as they tend to be quite hard wearing too.
