To ask if you ever feel all foggy headed and spaced out?

Does anyone else experience a feeling of pressure in their forehead and this foggy, heavy-headed feeling? It feels like when you zone out but I can't zone back in, if that makes sense. It's a really horrible feeling and I find it hard to concentrate when I'm feeling like it - I notice it mainly in supermarkets or after shopping, but have also had it happen outside so it's not the fluorescent lighting. I find when I come out into the busy supermarket car park that I really struggle crossing the road as I can't really concentrate enough on my surroundings to judge it.

I'm in my early 30s and have had this happen for as long as I can remember, so it's not the perimenopause. I remember it happening at school and thinking it was tiredness, but in retrospect it wasn't tiredness it was this foggy, heavy-headed feeling.

Yes I get this a lot and I also notice it more in supermarkets!

I've realised over time that it happens a lot more often in spring/summer so I think it may be exacerbated by allergies or histamine. I developed hayfever suddenly in my 30s out of nowhere.

I should add that I suspect I have ADHD too though not diagnosed.

@sugarandcyanide I sometimes have funny episodes in supermarkets!!! Like a kind of dizzy/thinking I’m going to fall backwards.
Morrisons is the worst (don’t ask me why🤷🏻‍♀️) I noticed a few years ago when they were refurbishing so everything was squeezed into half the space which meant the aisles were a lot narrower. I thought it was linked to menopause
I mentioned it to the nurse once and she looked at me like I’d gone mad🤣

I've considered all sorts, I wondered if there was something wrong with my ears or sinuses or if it was the lighting giving me some sort of migraine. I think I just notice it more in supermarkets because they are so busy at the weekends.

It's not just supermarkets, I often wake up in the morning feeling the same but it usually wears off. I've tried antihistamines and they help with the hayfever symptoms but not the weird head feeling and they make me very tired!

I'm sure it's some kind of allergy though, it's definitely not as bad in winter.

Yes m, before I stopped eating gluten

Yes and I have always put it down to some sort of hayfever as there are different types during different seasons, or hormones as it’s sometimes worse during different times of my cycle.

Glad I'm not the only one!

I also thought it was down to the lighting, but I've had it happen outside in broad daylight as well as in dimly lit restaurants. I am already fully gluten-free due to a gluten intolerance so it's not gluten causing it for me. I've had to stand at the side of a road before and wait for someone to come by so I could cross the road at the same time as them as I didn't feel able to safely cross it myself. It's such a strange feeling.

I have wondered if it's anxiety, or maybe being overstimulated from sensory input? I'm neurotypical as far as I'm aware
