...to have a quiet laugh at the fact that dh is having "a NIGHTMARE" of a day, looking after dd1 and dd2?

as he doesn't normally have them full time on his own

he has booked a week off to enjoy (titter) half term

dd2 was puking up yesterday and is in a FOUL mood today

dd1 is argueing over anything and everything

so all in all he is not a happy bunny

but he doesn't normally get it when I am off and have had them all day and feel shattered, "oh, have some patience Olive fgs"

well, today he is getting it

mwahahahahahahahahahahahah

off home now to rescue him

I may run my fingers along a shelf to make him annoyed and pick bits of fluff from the rug

Do you know, I have just realised that dh has never looked after dd on his own for more than a couple of hours

He works a lot more hours than I do and it is rare for me to be at work when he is not.

nailpolish · 28/05/2008 15:55

dont forget to critisise what clothes he has dressed dds in

i try to resist that one but i cant

lilolilmanchester · 28/05/2008 15:56

just a quiet laugh oliveoil? Hope he'll be more sympathetic to your bad days in future.

aGalChangedHerName · 28/05/2008 16:06

First off i have to say my DH is v v v good with all the 4 dc's. BUT when he tells me he would love to be a SAHD i do laugh because i now he would not cope with all the mundane shitey jobs i do with the dc.

When he has the dd's he takes very good care of them but does look bewildered when they start pulling hair or fighting. He is ineffectual tbh because i deal with them 99% of the time.

So i too have a quiet snigger when he moans about being tired etc. I ask him if he got all washing done/changed beds etc which is what i would have done.

But i can leave them at the drop of a hat and go so i don't mind too much.

aGalChangedHerName · 28/05/2008 16:08

The clothes thing? I never worry about that as he has been trained well

thefortbuilder · 28/05/2008 16:22

olive how about i send my builders round next time he has them then he can see what else we ladies might have to deal with!

dh bless him just stomps around flinging clothes away, looking in the fridge pointedly (when he gets home at 9pm and has said he doesn't need food as he's eaten at work), and then tidying up toys...

and i too have just relaised he has never had ds1 for longer than 1/2 a day, let alone both of them for longer than 15 mins (when ds2 was sleeping). still he's promised me a long weekend in NY to catch up with all my old friends so he's going to have to do it sooner or later

MrsWeasley · 28/05/2008 16:27

Dont forget to walk in and say "I'm starving. Whats for supper?" and "well what have you been doing today then?"

HaventSleptForAYear · 28/05/2008 16:34

at the overtime.

I pulled this one yesterday.

DH was picking up the kids at 5.15pm from the childminder's as usual on a Tuesday. At 5.30 he phoned me to ask where I was (at the office still mnetting working).

Cue huffy conversation as he had to rush both kids to the doctor's for 6pm in town. I met him there and things were frosty for a while because.. er.. why? he had to get 2 kids into car etc in a rush.

I deliberately avoided confrontation and let him work out for himself that I do this all the time, despite WOH full-time.

Can TOTALLY sympathise with your smug feeling - I would also be praying for rain !

Oliveoil · 28/05/2008 20:52

he was in a right mood hahahahahahahahahaha

we were all supposed to be eating together but he said "We. Are. Eating. At. 7.30pm" and his eyes were manic

[splutter]

he has another day of it yet mwah hahahahahahahh

hehe. dont forget to ask if your clothes are ironed in the morning!!!!

tomorrow though... bring bottle of wine home and say "i know its been hard so this is thanks". then hopefully.... (unless he's a moron) he will do the same for you !!!

nailpolish · 29/05/2008 13:41

how is dh getting on olive

you should ask him to do the weekly supermarket shop

that is MY pet hate with children in tow

Oliveoil · 29/05/2008 13:55

mine are fine in the supermarket tbh, I bribe with crisps

today is better as it is sunny so they are off out to his friends house

he is very tired he says, hahahahahahahahahaha, bet he can't wait to get back to work tomorrow

the house is a dump however, he has not kept to my high standards, tsk
