Feeling rotten

Currently suffering with one huge ulcer on my bottom lip and another one developing at the back of my throat. I am very prone to mouth ulcers but
some are worse than others and these are particularly bad. They are so painful but also giving me terrible headache and I feel generally wiped out.

I use sensodyne toothpaste, I’m rinsing with salt water, taking paracetamol. Trying to keep hydrated and taking vitamins. I’ve seen the GP about this before and they basically shrugged it off and suggested mouthwash and bonjela.

I know from experience it will pass and heal on their own but in the meantime I am utterly miserable. My head is so foggy and heavy. I just want to sleep but have two dc running around. I would never have believed mouth ulcers could be so bloody vile. Anyone else suffer like this?

Difflam oral rinse is good for sore throats/mouths

Would Clove oil help? Helps for toothache (tastes vile), and Google suggests it can be used for mouth ulcers too x

Do you ever suffer with other gastric or digestive complaints?

Not really. I know it can be linked to chrohns but I don’t think it’s that. I just get these ulcers maybe once every few months and when they are severe like now it really does wipe me out. The pain in my mouth is manageable, it’s more the headaches and tiredness.

I get mouth ulcers due to the cancer meds I am on. I have found the mouthwash by Corsodyl to help reduce the number I get.

Feel.your pain - just opening your mouth is agony!

Not just linked to crohns, they're a crohns symptom. It just strikes me that you're so wiped out each time, I'm wondering if the fatigue could be indicative of crohns flaring.

I don't know how common it is to experience fatigue with mouth ulcers, but I've not heard it before so it might be worth investigating.

I think it’s possibly a symptom of my body fighting the infection. As soon as the pain starts easing then the headaches and tiredness do too. It’s honestly draining.

Just sent Dh out for some difflam so will try that.
