I left my job yesterday and start a new job in September when the new term starts. I will receive my final pay on Monday. After bills I have worked out that I have around £1300 left on Monday and then a £287 UC top up on the 11th August and then no other income until 11th September (UC) and then when my wages from new job start coming in at the end of September.

So around £1587 roughly, to last 6 weeks. This includes my DD birthday who is 6 in the holidays and need to get her presents. This also includes food, petrol and some days out throughout the holidays. I have already paid for her day out and my parents are paying to take out for a birthday meal with us all.

is this manageable? Any tips to help budget and make it last through to the 11th September?

single parent also, with one child. Also some child benefit coming in weekly at £26.01 through the 6 weeks.

Thank you.

That works out as ~37 a day which is fine in theory until you purchase something big or you need money in an emergency.

The secret (as someone who has been there) is to have a few no spend days. Difficult but doable. £37 will buy enough food for one adult and a child to last several days.
Parks, museums and beaches are free.

Sorry but that’s loads I have much less on disability benefits Granted for me and a dog
write down your outgoings including forthcoming standing orders etc
Look on Vinted for presents or consider electronics from somewhere like Backmarket
meal plan and shop in Aldi and you’ll have enough to take her for a birthday meal
Download meerkat meals app for offers like 2 for 1
You might want to continue and save the extra
its easy to panic when you’re on less money suddenly but you and DD will be happy
i hope some of my tips help,

search for free activities.
playground
beach
woods
cooking
painting
have friends round
have you organised her birthday already?

Yes. Already paid for a day out at an under 10s theme park kind of place. And then we’re going out for a meal with family

thank you everyone for your ideas! Appreciate it!

So you have £1587 plus the £26 a week child benefit that you mention at the end of the post
That's £290 a week. If it is only for 6 weeks then that is fine. All bills are paid so it really is just food, petrol, some gifts for your daughter and any paid activities that you choose to do.
With regard to your daughters birthday gifts, she's 6 so you can get a lot of stuff fairly cheaply for a 6 year old. Look for activity stuff, craft stuff special bubble baths and things can all be bought cheaply in the likes of B&M. Maybe a couple of outfits from Primark or somewhere.
Your daughter may just have to have some relaxing at home days where she likes it or not. Kids dont need their days to be full of activites. When mine were little the summer was mainly spent as days at home with a walk or trip to play park. Maybe having friends over or going to theirs. There would be a couple of big days out over the holidays but that's it.You can do all sorts of things at home.
Rainy day, Have a movie day, make some popcorn, and pick some films to watch.
Do a mini pamper day with her where you do facepack, nice bubble baths, paint nails etc.
Bake some fairy cakes or cookies. Let her help you plan dinner and cook.
If it's nice out go for walks, go to free activities, bike rides, out on scooter etc. You dont say if you have a garden but if you do then spend time out there playing, get her to help weed.
Clothes for you. Fair enough you need some stuff for your new job but you dobt need loads to start with. Get a few bits from Primark or New look to see you through and buy more when you get paid. You should be able to get a couple pairs trousers, a skirt and half a dozen plain t- shirts for under £100 in Primark. New look also has a huge sale on at the moment.
