I’ve never had a good diet and I’m underweight. Please educate me on what a decent breakfast and lunch would be?

I’ve never learned to cook properly and growing up we didn’t have full meals it was often ready meals or snacks. I’m embarrassed to say I just don’t know where to start with what a healthy meal is for breakfast and for lunch? How much is enough? I can have a biscuit and a tea and then one small ham sandwich for lunch and I don’t feel strong or energetic. What do you eat?

Hi op, I used to be underweight 5 years ago. I was skipping meals and just couldn’t be bothered to eat. Fortunately that changed I usually like some sort of eggs for breakfast, scrambled, poached, sunny side up you name it. Usually with a toast and side of fruit. Sometimes I do:

eggs on toast with mashed avocado
turkey of beef sausages with toast and side of fruit
avocado and feta with cherry tomatoes toast

Lunch: chicken wrap, some sort of salad with protein like fish or chicken

dinners: depending on the season but I like beef lasagne, roasted chicken & potato, meatballs with mash etc.

My current favourite breakfast is scrambled eggs on a bagel (one of those thin protein seeded Warburton ones) with a side of rocket or spinach.
Sometimes I scramble the eggs with a bit of feta and top it with zaatar

I'm usually too lazy to cook for breakfast.

Sometimes I eat leftovers from dinner so it could be pasta or rice! But my default is Greek yoghurt with a handful of granola on top and at least three types of fruit (whatever is in season. Could be blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, apple, banana, raisins, dried apricots, tinned dates, kiwi, mango...

If I'm really hungry then maybe I'll add toast and peanut butter.
