To think the ‘high stress’ alerts on Garmin watches are very inaccurate.

I wear a garmin vivoactive most of the time, for running data and daily step count.
I work in a high pressure drop (basically available 24/7 unless on holiday), long hours, full time. 2 young kids and DH works away a lot (a few days most weeks!). It’s a lot to manage house is always a mess etc and I do get stressed sometimes. A 30 min run when I can helps a lot, and I do get down time a the weekend when DH is home.

Ive noticed I get ‘high stress period’ alerts on my watch at the wrong time e.g. on a Sunday morning when DH has taken the kids to a sporting activity and I’m sitting in the garden reading a book (very light content!). I thought it was weird glitch.

until this weekend. Kids have finished school (no school askin) and we are at Center Parcs - it’s the only month of the year when work is quiet so I’ve not needed to touch my laptop. I’ve basically been in restaurants, watching the kids so ‘adrenaline’ activities (spectating only!), no cooking, strolling around the forest and spent 4 hours in the SPA on Saturday! I feel very very relaxed and have slept amazing. However My Garmin ‘stress alerts’ have been going crazy all weekend, popping up all the time. AIBU that it’s the watch that is faulty?!

To be fair mine have been pretty accurate- my dad’s funeral, an incident with my mum that I’ve written out on here for advice many times but deleted every time. It’s ongoing and alcohol related.

but the garmin knows - it’s always watching. It’s a forerunner 255

I find it varies. Sometimes it really does reflect when I’m stressed or ill. Others are like you and it declares high stress when I’m relaxing. It hates me sitting in the sun reading for instance. It then messes up the body battery levels as the high stress levels drain it.

Mine only ever alerts me to high stress when I’m doing yoga! I think it’s the deep breathing maybe? But yes, totally inaccurate for me
