Suspended from Facebook

I received a message from Facebook nine days ago telling me that I have been suspended from Facebook. I have no idea why I was suspended - allegedly I have broken one of the rules, although it gave no details. As someone who rarely posts on Facebook, other than to leave birthday greetings for friends, I have absolutely NO idea why I have been suspended. I immediately appealed the decision and received a message saying that it usually takes just over a day to review my information. However nine days later, I am still none the wiser as to what happened, and why I was suspended, and don't know how to get back on there. I do not put anything inflammatory or even political on Facebook, so I really do not know why I was suspended. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if so, how did you get back on? From googling this, it appears that Meta are very difficult to make contact with, and don't tend to respond to individuals who try to make contact with them. I would be very grateful for any help from anyone who knows how to contact them and get a response. Thanks.

Could you have had a friend who posted something political or controversial and then you accidently liked it without reading or realising.

I don't get inappropriate posts as such but I do have a friend who often posts controversial stuff 😆

I run a small group for a local hobby. One of the members posted that she was going to Belfast to visit a friend and the group was issued a warning for terrorist activities and her account suspended. We got it sorted but the AI bots are awful.

Yes but it also could have been hacked and it's a fake email. OP needs one of her friends to check what the account is doing.

I've been able to get a hold of meta humans for an issue with meta quest. They were quite helpful. I can't see why they can't do it with Facebook.

Maybe Zuckerberg is just using it to train AI and doesn't care about it anymore.

They are clamping down on accounts with little info and little use though. You have to keep it active to keep it.

The same thing happened to me with my Twitter account. I only had an account because my daughter suggested it so that I could watch any videos my grandchildrens' school posted. I never posted anything or looked at any other accounts but I am blocked for an "infringement".

The infringement is probably that you're not making them enough money.

People who have social media but don't use it, or open it and go directly to a profile to view a video and then exit the app don't aren't profitable. In fact they cost money.

It's only when companies can show data that people scrolled and scrolled and scrolled (past lots of ads) that their time and attention becomes profitable.

I once got a warning for posting false information. The post was one I shared that said it was Kurt Cobain's 50th birthday. The post was about four years old when I got the warning. So I suppose technically it was false at the time that I got the warning but it wasn't at the time that I posted it. 😆

I did wonder if that might be the case. I got no joy out of asking them why and, as far as I know, I'm still banned.

A work colleague asked me where we had visited on my FB page. I replied "If I tell you I'll have to kill you". I got a warning of suspension, for making death threats,It didn't happen. Last year I got a message saying that they had closed my account because I had been hacked. They hadn't closed the account and I hadn't been hacked.

The good news is that after four weeks I have received an email from Facebook saying that they have reviewed my account and seen that my activity does follow community standards so I'm back on there again.

Thanks for all the advice. I thought this might be helpful for someone else. I didn't really do anything much in the way of contacting them (as it is so difficult to do that). I just waited, not really expecting to get back on, but in the end I did.

Yep! And when I logged in on my burner account with a SCREENSHOT of the post, I also got FB jail time for that too 😅

I got a similar message but it was a scam
