To be worried about blood on toilet paper when GP couldn't find hemorrhoids?

Not sure how worried I should be? The past few days I have noticed some bright red blood on the toilet paper after a bowel movement. Just specks of it. But consistently for like 3 days. Bit of stinging and burning too after opening bowels. I figured it's probably hemorrhoids. But I just got back from the GP and she did an internal exam and said she couldn't see any tears and couldn't find any hemorrohoids, not on the outside OR the inside. I'm going to do a FIT test and then she said she'll refer me for either a routine colonoscopy if it comes back normal, and an urgent one if it comes back abnormal.

Handhold please? I have health anxiety which was under control recently, and this has sparked it all up again.

Probably a slight fissure - unlikely to be anything to worry about. Were you slightly constipated?

Thank you - no, not constipated, but had looser movements for the past few days. It just sort of feels like there's more pressure there!

I've had one for years, regularly bleeds. My understanding it's dark blood actually in your poo that's a worry. Just some bright red means you've a slight cut/split by your anus...mine has to be over 20 years

I think general rule is, if it's fresh, red blood, it's not a cause for concern and if it's old, brown blood, you should worry x

Probably slight tear. I thought older darker blood was more of an indicator for soemjtong more sinister
