We cannot trust NHS after NHS Fife’s misogynistic bullying of a nurse

NHS tried to fire Sandie Peggie and bully her out of her job just for insisting on female only changing rooms. They tried to paint her as far right in court. They made her life hell. Hounded her out of her job by suspending her. Peggie was cleared in her tribunal yesterday.

The male ‘doctor’ identifying as a woman who was complicit in this said in court that he thinks biological sex is a nebulous dog whistle. Imagine that. That’s a doctor who is treating patients who has unilaterally re-written the fundamental laws of human biology health sciences. Would you want to be treated by a doctor like that?

How can patients trust the NHS?

Why should taxpayers be on hook for NHS’ misogynistic bullying of women?

Why haven’t the bosses of NHS Fife need fired?

How is a misogynistic male doctor who doesn’t understand the bilological between men and women allowed to treat women?

How is this batshit situation allowed to happen? And why is the public accepting it?

Another general issue in the NHS that this case has illustrated is the sheer inefficiency and bureaucracy and waste of taxpayers money. Witnesses being questioned keep denying that they have responsibility for anything and pass it off to someone else, who was either off sick or on leave, and then it goes to someone else who also said they dont know anything about it. It just illustrates a behemoth of an organisation where people are being paid taxpayers money to deny all responsibility for anything.

Let alone employing a young graduate whose only experience is bartending and covid contact tracing as the HR and equality head who, when asked for her advice about a legal situation, didn't even look up what the law was or take legal advice, but copy and pasted what another hospital department had done. And then unsurprisingly gave the wrong legal advice. And shes being paid £50k for this!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/07/2025 17:03

I find it hard to trust any health organisation that does not understand or accept that sex is biological and cannot be changed. If a doctor does not understand this basic fact, how can I trust him on more complex matters?

Pinkrabitt · 17/07/2025 21:10

Also the doctor in question said that even if a patient requested female only care he would still treat her, while insisting that he is a woman. Can you imagine being the patient in that example? Most likely someone vulnerable who has experienced sexual assault or abuse. Its absolutely horrific that the NHS condones this.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 17/07/2025 21:16

Toxic trans nonsense needs to be rooted out of every organisation. It's totally destructive and detrimental to women's rights.

Sunflowersurprise · 17/07/2025 21:28

Just go on Twitter and read the tribunal tweets recording of today. It was utterly mindblowing! The nurse should not have complained about a man being in her changing room. She should have just stripped off infront of him and said nothing. This is where we have come to!

The investigating staff member gets her investigation notes given to her with whole sections already completed for her by goodness knows who. The nurse isn’t allowed to talk to anyone due to confidentiality but the doctor is allowed to send an email around all of the doctors in the whole department outlining the situation and asking for comments. The nurse apparently was persisting in calling the doctor a man and someone needs to tell her to stop, apparently.

Totally and utterly shocking!

And that’s just what we got to between the ‘it wasnae me’ and the ‘I cannae remember’ which went on endlessly.

Just disgusted at the treatment really. The gender ideologs acted like Nazi’s, putting fear into any dissenting voices. As someone who works well away from the public sector I am staggered that so many seem to think that it’s cool or kind to pretend you have no idea if you’re a man or woman. Grow up fgs!

Sunflowersurprise · 17/07/2025 21:33

The saving grace to the whole thing was that the nurses KC is driving a coach and horses through the NHS Fife nonsense which is very very easy to do and the Judge is doing as many ‘WFT!’ eye rolls as any other non-cult member in the room.

ArtTheClown · 17/07/2025 21:38

But then again, Scottish people vote for this. Not sure they mind too much.

Many of us hate it. Bear in mind it was Scottish women who got the Surpreme Court clarification - and we have Queen Rowling.

Butchyrestingface · 17/07/2025 21:41

Is Dr Kate Searle going to be called to give evidence? I do so want to see what she's got to say for herself. 😈

Short of actual physical violence, I think women should be entitled to confront biological males in single sex (female) spaces as forcefully as they feel is necessary. Maybe nurse Peggie should just have started screaming instead from fear for her safety at being confronted by a man in her changing room, but we can all be wise after the fact.

I'm torn as to the outcome. I really want heads to roll all the way to the top, but can't help feel frustrated that it's likely to be FEMALE heads on the chopping block, whilst the MALE instigator of the whole furore is sitting pretty with his job, his crowdfunder and his therapist's couch, free to continue to impose on female staff and patients.

Screamingabdabz · 17/07/2025 21:44

Putting the trans pantomime to one side, it’s just utterly mind blowing that an NHS body, or any other apparatus of the state, be it in education, or government, or the civil service (who are captured too) wants to persecute a perfectly ordinary woman minding her own business, contributing to society as a nurse.

If it can happen to her, it can happen to any of us. Sacking her, declaring her a bigot and unworthy because she said no to changing in the same room as a man. Just horrifying and dystopian. She’s been brave enough to go public, and take it court. What if she hadn’t been so brave? Or didn’t have the means to fight it? Like some of us wouldn’t. This is abuse. And state money being used to perpetrate it.

And yesterday the diversity lead said that she didn’t do a risk assessment or consider what the views of female staff members might be to having to share a changing room with a bloke. It didn’t even cross her mind. Do they really think normal people are cool with stripping in front of blokes? Do they think we’re all as captured as they clearly are? Who are these people? What happens in their mind? It’s staggering.

The bloke made allegations that the nurse put patients in danger by walking off when he was there. Serious allegations which could easily have seen her sacked and have since been found to be made up. Hopefully that will be enough to get him struck off.

SarfLondonLad · 17/07/2025 21:52

Never read such rubbish (even on MN) and that's saying something.

SunshinDay · 17/07/2025 22:09

The NHS needs a huge overhaul in every way including a toxic culture .
I've seen quite a few threads on here where someone is talking about being bullied and someone else says..you work in the NHS don't you !
Recently there was a damming survey that said so many sexual attacks happen in hospital as well !

I really hope he is struck off.

He's a proven liar. Probably also got a sexual thrill from undressing in front of women and trying to make them do the same.

Well, he's married to a woman so we know he's a heterosexual male.

Sunflowersurprise · 17/07/2025 22:36

I used to work at a university, and they were all over the trans stuff, and we’d just smile, nod, do the training courses and hope in time it passes. I find it so patronising that we should be trained in this stuff, because it’s not as if anyone needs training in ‘how to be nice to people’. No one’s going to take the Mickey out of someone who’s trans, or black, or gay etc. As long as it doesn’t effect your life it’s fine.

But NHS Fife seems to have swallowed the nonsense whole, have actually allowed the transwomen to (illegally) enter a single sex space. What does it take for an institution to be so swallowed whole by an ideology that they’d totally disregard the rights of others and think it’s fine to expose their female staff to crimes of sexual violence (because that’s how vouyerism is classed)? NHS Fife has been shown to have totally lost their minds. How many other public institutions are affected? Is it everywhere?

I now work in the private sector where we deal in facts, scientific facts.

The head nurse said she changed in her office.
none of these women harassing SP have to change in front of men.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/07/2025 16:31

I am glad to see that SP is now suing the RCN - I used to be a nurse, and was a proud RCN member, but they have sold their female members down the river. I don’t know a huge amount about the RCN’s history, but I’m betting that it was founded by women and has, for many years been a mainly female union - so it is doubly appalling that they are so willing to sacrifice women to this vocal minority of demanding men.

And frankly, as a union of healthcare professionals, they should know that human beings cannot change sex!

There was a very interesting exchange with (I think) the second KC, Charlotte Elves, on this. She set the point up by saying if this was true it was a very serious incident for patient safety; witness agreed.

Then dropped the hammer by asking why Dr U never logged the serious incident at the time, as he was morally/professionally obliged to.

The whole defence is infested with contradictions, dead-ends, nonsense and more. If it wasn't so serious it would be hilariously bad.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/07/2025 18:01

I wonder why no-one has asked Isla Bumba whether she has a driving licence or passport and what she has put on them as her sex! Either she has lied to the tribunal, and genuinely (ha haha) doesn’t know if she is male or female, or she has lied on these official documents by declaring her sex.

RobinEllacotStrike · 26/07/2025 00:05

So many women testifying under oath they are utterly confused by their own sex, and yet thoroughly convinced DrUpton should use the female staff facilities.

peculiar.

I just want to come back to this point: Yesterday the NHS Fife EDI head said she didn’t know her sex as she doesn’t know her chromosomes

Have Upton's chromosomes been tested?

Sandie Peggie is accused of hate crimes for allegedly mentioning chromosomes in the Drs presence (which SP denies).

I doubt very much the Dr has any chromosomes at all. At least not contentious ones 😆

Fuck right off with this. I didn’t vote for this. The SNP are dying on their arses and this shite is the reason why.
