To not turn up to the last day of school to attend leaving speeches/ lunch

I work part time since returning from mat leave and it hasn't been great - sharing my classes with unqualified cover supervisor- so I have decided to leave.
The last day of school falls on a day which is my usual day off. I have worked at this school for over 4 years..would it look bad if I just opt not to come along on the last day? Lunch is likely to be around midday and then the speech can go on for some time depending on how many people are leaving.

I have one colleague who works in the same department as me who is also leaving and it might be nice to sit with her but other than that no one I'd call a friend.

wwyd? I've never been in this situation before and not sure what the done thing is. Sorry for the essay but didn't want to drip feed.

You have childcare commitments and therefore unfortunately can't make it.
Dont over think it.

If you are leaving and you’re not paid to be at work, you have no obligation at all to be there, and what they think of you won’t really matter by the next day! I’d just email my department and any colleagues I’ve worked with to let them know I won’t be there for the last day for the lunch but to thank them / wish them the best. You could offer a drink or cake in your classroom / in your final team meeting on your last day if you really wanted. But ultimately you would be fine to leave and do none of that!
