How many times a week do you have meat?

Obviously not talking about vegetarians here.
Im trying to cut down on the amount of meat we eat and as a result I’m having to really learn how to cook! I’m enjoying it - but DH is practically carnivorous so he’s already asking when the next meat meal will be coming.

im thinking of keeping meat to Friday, Saturday and Sunday - veggie rest of the week. Am I being mean to DH?

I think we are slightly unusual as we eat more fish (not seafood) than meat. Normally we have 2 fish meals and 1 meat meal a week.

Most nights really, meat or fish any way. Occasionally we have jackets with cheese and beans, or a nursery tea, but that can involve fish fingers at least! Or tuna on a jacket.
not very often fully meat free to be fair, we are all rather carnivorous and love our protein here.

My ds is a committed carnivore and has meat 6 days a week. Fish one night.

He has pizza on Friday nights when I make another fish or perhaps veggie dish for me.

We're in Greece at the moment and eating a lot more veggie food. Here we eat meat or fish only half the time.

Almost never for breakfast.

About five days a week for lunch.

Every evening.

Sometimes we'll have fish instead of land-based meat.

Daily for dinner

I try to have fish or veggie for lunch though

Resurrected a summer meal this evening ( oo yesterday now) we used to have all the time. If you’re in need of ideas. Large pitta with salad greens onions toms usual salad stuff etc. plus either / or / or all ( in the case of my kids ) boiled egg, avocado, dry fried halloumi. Dressing etc as you like. Easy and amazing. I can’t answer your actual question as I’m veggie

I live alone and these past couple of years I don't generally buy meat and I don't even cook - I live on salads.

When my son visits I'll cook a meal involving meat. So that's probably one meal every three weeks or so.

If we're counting fish, seven days a week. Usually one meat meal but sometimes two.

If I don't eat any dead creatures for several days, I start feeling all weak and wimpy. It definitely affects me, even though I have plenty of soya products & eggs instead. (Can't eat cheese, but it was the same when I did.)

I sometimes wonder if we have different genetic predispositions to be more/less carnivorous, just as some groups of people are more or less tolerant of alcohol, dairy or wheat.

Except for breakfast (eggs) a meat free meal would be the exception for us. Sometimes have a cheese sandwich for lunch.

Why are you reducing meat: taste, expense, ethics?

I can see your husband's point if you have unilaterally changed the composition of meals, maybe you can give him a pork pie to chew on
