I dont like my job that much and i dont like some of the people either. There are team meetings with the whole team once a week on Zoom they mainly include the loudest people talking and I have little to say as

AIBU to say Im not going on the meeting

Why can't you go to the meeting and just not say anything? Continue your work and just have the meeting going on in the background?

TulipCat · 16/07/2025 09:55

Of course you should attend if that's what is asked of you. Why do you have to say anything? Just be on the call and crack on with another task at the same time. Unfortunately there are all sorts of things you have to do for work even if you don't want to.

No one here can tell you. If they are mandatory team meetings then you attend, if they are optional it's up to you.

If you don't like your job, look for another one.

If you have an issue with the way the team meetings are run, speak to your manager about ways to improve.

In short, act like an adult.

It's on Zoom. Just keep a polite expression on your face and get on with it. It's impossible to see how that is so awful.

Eugh that would be a no-go in my workplace - you don’t decline a meeting without a good reason, and team meetings are meant to be a priority. You’d get pulled up and it wouldn’t put you in a great light with anyone as it’ll look like you feel you’re too important to attend!

If you don’t like your job you need to be looking for another one - once you have something lined up you can be a bit more blasé about meetings!
