To wonder how people can wish these people happy birthday on Facebook after what they have done?

Two horrible scumbags where I live who are in prison for murder/attempted murder against women, and people are still washing them a happy birthday on Facebook.
Don't they realise what they've done?
Don't they realise they won't read it anyway as no access to FB?

But why would you?
Dreadful.🙄
I wonder if I'm the only one that's noticed it too. Perhaps there are more?😫

If they are family, it's complicated. Unfortunately some prisoners do have access to social media. But people like the notoriety of knowing certain people.

People still have families. Its not as simple as guilty= end all relationships forever.

No they do not have access.

No. There's a difference between not being allowed to have access, and actually not having access. There are ridiculous numbers of illegal mobile phones in prison.

No they do not have access.

You'd be surprised. Phones are easy to obtain inside.

PlantDoctor · 14/07/2025 00:34

Of course they sound like horrendous people, but not everyone follows every aspect of someone's life. The people commenting could be old colleagues or acquaintances?

PlantDoctor · 14/07/2025 00:35

Just to add, Facebook prompts you to say happy birthday to friends, so they might just click the preset "happy birthday" without knowing their history

Must be that then.
Perhaps they don't know.
Perhaps after years of seeing no posts from them or comments they.might stop.

Anyone else ?

What are you hoping for?

Do you want us to loudly condemn these people? We have no idea who you are talking about, so its hard to make a balanced comment.

fridaynightbeers · 14/07/2025 17:35

Honestly a lot of people just wish anyone on the friend list happy birthday because fb sends an alert.
Lost track of the number of “Happy birthday, have a great day!” posts I see on the fb of dead people. Not “happy heavenly birthday” just people who genuinely pay no attention and don’t even realise they’ve died/gone to prison for a violent crime.

It's just not that deep.

DO NOT LOOK AT FACEBOOK

Simple. You’ll be much calmer for it, I guarantee.
