Hi, I’m I’m at breaking point. Please help.

I have what I assumed was tonsillitis, but I’ve had it before and the symptoms feel so much worse than I’ve had before. Eating plain food and drinking even just water is burning my whole throat.

I now have canker sores / ulcers around my lips. I am attaching a photo in the comments, I really need some help.
i am taking every pain killer that I can and nothing is helping.

I feel like I’m waisting hospital time attending with what they might see as ‘a sore throat’ . How do I get them to take me seriously?

Go back now and get a reassessment. Don’t delay. How long have you been on the antibiotics?

@3luckystars I started them Friday evening (doctor said I didn’t need them, went to pharmacy after for some alternative pain relief as paracetamol wasn’t doing it, and she asked to have a look and went WOAH, and prescribed me Penicillin).

Ouch! Definitely try and rebook at the GP today!

You should be seeing some improvement now ,i have had bacterial tonsillitis loads of times and always prescribed penicillin after 48 hours I start feeling much better
If it's Quinsy you do need to be seen ASAP.

My youngest had what I thought was tonsillitis last week, took him to the Dr and it was strep A, apparently going around again, your picture didn't load for me so maybe not relevant but worth a mention 🤷🏻‍♀️

It definitely looks like a mouth ulcer. That’s not to say there isn’t some other virus or infection present too but the thing on your tonsil looks just like a big mouth ulcer. They are incredibly painful and they can make you feel generally unwell, lethargic etc.

Been to Drs. Dr was amazing. says my inner ear is infected and that it is basically ulcers all in my throat and he even went to get a student to come have a look. He said he hid his expression at first but then told me I absolutely have a right to be crying. He’s said to keep up with what I’m doing and that he’ll ring me Thursday with the swab results if there’s an underlying infection but he suspects viral. Just got to continue with what I’m using and it’ll pass soon.

Op mouth ulcers are dreadful but they will improve by themselves given time and good rest. Keep your mouth clean and get plenty of fluids down you. Unless they are particularly nasty or there’s something else going on im almost certain you’ll feel better for your wedding.

@lemoncake29 thank you so much. I’ve honestly never had pain like it and having the doctor validate my pain felt really reassuring! Thank you I really hope I do feel ok by then. Only three weeks to go , resting when the kids are at school is the best option I think!

Hi op this looks like tonsillitis but could also be infected ulcers. Could you have glandular fever? The 2nd worst pain (after childbirth 😂) was viral tonsillitis and throat ulcers. Take vitamin b when you’re better. So sorry when you’ve got this pain it’s awful
