To think you don't throw up in front of someone's drive and shout up the street at them?

I suppose this is more of a wwyd than an aibu.

A very rowdy family just walked up my street, stopped in front of my drive whilst their DC (young teen, also laughing) threw up, laughed at my cat who thought it was dinnertime then continued walking up the street laughing.

I was down the side of the house and went out front, a bit shocked and watched them walk off at which point the mum turned around and shouted "What's she looking at? I don't have an effing mop n bucket. I didn't reply but washed the sick away.

So AIBU to think there's a better way to deal with this? What is the etiquette when throwing up outside someone's home? She had a point, she didn't have the means to clean up but it also feels wrong to just leave a puddle of puke. WWYD?

What a beast!

WonderingWanda · 13/07/2025 18:55

Were they drunk? The shouting and being rude is unpleasant but she is right in that there's very little she could do. I would probably be apologetic if it were me.

They sound awful. If I threw up outside someone's home id apologise and offer to clean it.

Some people are just vile and loud, op. Stick up a ring camera to record any further interactions with them, but yanbu x

Of course there is things you can do like ask to borrow something to clean it up with

People don't always have a warning of when they'll be sick it can't be helped but what they an do is not be such gob shite skanks and offer to clean up.

Whaleandsnail6 · 13/07/2025 19:09

They should have knocked on the door (or kept knocking on houses until someone answered) to ask for a bucket of water and cleaning liquid to swill it away with.

Disgusting in this hot weather to leave it festering 🤢

That assumes that the person is decent and sober. I suspect neither in this scenario.

"Im sorry, my DC is ill if you have a hose I'll rinse it to the drain"

minnienono · 13/07/2025 20:26

The minimum is to apologise, they may have no means to clear it up but an apology would be polite!

Suusue · 13/07/2025 21:30

They are disgusting pieces of shite. They don't deserve to live amongst decent people. Just vile.
