Posting here for traffic mainly…I’m torn between wanting to create something more warming with a deep green or possibly navy?? But then a part of me thinks to keep the whole room light and airy and do a neutral colour. What do you think?

It looks like quite a small room, is that right? Which direction (north, east etc) does that window face, and is it the only window in the room?

How about a light blue like this? It’s the bathroom inspo I’m planning on using when we get ours done!

Is the window frame black? If so I think not navy as that’d clash. Maybe lighter blues or Green with some black bathroom bits and pieces to tie it all together?

I've recently done a bathroom with similar colour tiles. I kept everything else neutral thinking about light.
I'm regretting it now. It's just cold and boring looking.
It needs colour.

Your ideas to add deep blues or greens sound lovely.

My daughters en-suite will be this kind of blue accents so I can’t do the same again 😅

@zaxxon it’s an average size bathroom I reckon…no idea of dimensions… the floor tiles are 60x60…see the pic of the floor attached.

im replacing the sink with an oak unit too…

I rather like the line green of the tile spacers 😄 it would keep the room light too

I would keep it neutral then add colour with towels and accessories, that way when you want to update all you need is new towels etc. thats what we did, started with red its now orange.

Yeah I like this idea too…I’m so torn though because I love a bath in the evening so I would like it to feel cosy so I can light candles etc

We also added a dimmer switch so i can dim the lights and light my candles for a cosy bath, a few plants too add to the relaxed ambience.

Deep teal green would look glorious. Definitely give it some colour.

zaxxon · 13/07/2025 21:55

Deep colours in a small room can be pretty claustrophobic. I once tiled one wall in a bathroom in deep blue, and had to rip it all off again and replace with cream.

Here you might consider light sage green, with darker (dark grey?) accents.

That’s why I have kept the tiles neutral, the paint I can change. I think dark may work but if it doesn’t it can be painted over I suppose

I love it, but I did go really dark almost black (F&B call it Downpipe) with light cream tiles in mine. It’s so cosy in the winter and non clinical.

Thank you! Yes I love the contrast! Love deep dark colours. But I also love neutral so this is a good mix!
