...between 3pm-5:30pm? I have just come back from walking the dog and I wasn't the only one! I feel we may start to adopt a different way of of living if this continues.

I like the idea of a nationwide siesta personally OP (and definitely have one myself when I can) but it would be quite the adaptation for people in the U.K.! Having said that it really annoys me that the government just watch each summer get hotter and hotter and don’t seem to be facing up to the reality that actually we do need to make changes to cope with the hotter weather, either in our buildings (eg air-con, shutters, awnings etc becoming the norm) and landscape, or introducing a siesta or similar in summer months. It annoys me that the attitude is we should just all carry on business as normal. My job isn’t manual thank God, but it’s pretty mentally taxing and quick thinking and decision making is inportant, and my brain is definitely really struggling to function at the level it needs to for work on really hot days.
