To think amazon prime day is a bit shit this year?

The offers just seem a bit subpar and not much is actually on offer at all. I usually get a few things I need at a discount but its a bit disappointing this year. Amazon in general seems on the downslide with enshitification setting in. I actually found that I ended up ordering most of the items I was looking for elsewhere and suspect I will cancel my prime subscription when this one runs out.

I like Prime for the 'First Read' free books each month. It's a bit like Premium Bonds, one of those little excitements in life....

I know that's not the original topic of the post!

Wait, I’d like in on this! How can I sign up to it?!

I haven’t bought anything in a prime deal, we do use Amazon a lot for the convenience and I’ve never worked out how to link dh to my account or vice versa so we pay for 2 prime accounts which has always seemed stupid but I think they make it deliberately not obvious so that stupid people like us pay double.
Mostly the things that I order come the next day so I don’t have any complaints there. Possibly not always the cheapest but I’m time poor so I’ll pay for the convenience of realising I need xyz in a hurry and accept the cost.

Oh which one did you get, I've been looking at them, some have quite a good discount.

I did get 80% off some hair straighteners which I needed to get.

I got the Eufy X10 Pro Omni. Reduced from £799 to £550. I'm looking forward to having my kitchen floor regularly mopped. I was a bit worried as the place I wanted to put it has no space either side of it and it wasn't until I got the instructions out of the box that I saw it recommended 50cm clear space either side... So I tried it and it had no problems docking. So far, so good. Tomorrow, on to setting up a second floor to do upstairs.

With the Prime First Reads, I get an email each month with a choice of a free book or sometimes two.

I just get an email every month. There is also a thing where you can borrow kindle books free (any listed as free on Prime), up to 19 at a time. That's mostly what I read

Probably something needs to be done with linking Kindle to Amazon account.....I can't remember now.

Yes, they just put up prices and then announced 50% reduction etc, or stuff is cheaper on subscribe and save

Goodness me, why give Jeff Bezos more money than is necessary?

Go on 'account' and under 'account settings' select 'Manage Your Amazon Family' and there should be an option to add your husband on there.

But if he's already paid for a year's Prime upfront, he needs to cancel that and maybe he could call Amazon to get a partial refund, at least.

I was looking at a photo printer, was lowest price I'd seen it for anywhere else. John Lewis price matched it and they had 20% off as well so almost £20 cheaper than Amazon. Always shop around stuff can be cheaper elsewhere.
