So I havent told anyone so thought I would announce it on here and ask for recommendations on what to do.
I've been throwing up deliberately after eating again.
I suffered with this illness when I was 16 17 and fell pregnant at 18 and I just stopped for that reason.
Recently life has been awful and I only eat once a day but without fail I always "have" to go to toilet after and stick my fingers down my throat.
I feel disgusting and pathetic and lately I've been feeling very ill
I know I'm doing it to have some weird sense of control over something in my life.
I was doing it on and off for years but since my mum died suddenly and I couldn't save her (heart attack, she was almost 90) it's a daily thing.
I don't know how on earth I can bring this up to a gp. I havent lost weight and also have bowel issues so obviously I'm keeping something down.
I feel so ashamed and I was wondering if any older people have had a replase that's bad and if so what do you recommend.
When I look online it's mainly aimed at teenagers and young adults which makes me feel even more pathetic

Your GP will be understanding so go and see them. You will not be the first person they have dealt with that has bulimia. They will have dealt with far worse conditions. Please go see your GP.

Please do go and talk to your GP - it's not just young people who struggle with eating disorders and your GP will not be shocked or horrified and will be able to offer treatment. Don't let shame stop you from getting help, there is no shame in being ill, you have an illness and you're not in any way to blame. You have overcome this in the past and you can again. Wishing you all the strength and support you need to get well 💐

Really good that you have started to share this, even if on an anonymous forum.

Eating disorders thrive on shame and secrets, it's part of the illness, if you can dig deep and take that step of talking to your doctor it will start to help. If that feels too big a step, you could try the Beat helpline https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/get-information-and-support/get-help-for-myself/i-need-support-now/helplines/
