I booked a holiday to France earlier in the year, and got seduced by Opodo Prime offering me £90 pp off the price if we took out Opodo Prime Subscription. It was made clear that you could cancel the suscription within a fortnight, which we duly did. Fast forward to yesterday and I've received the following email:
The price of your booking to Bergerac has changed since you booked. We're giving you £60 flight credit* to cover the price change after purchase. Here's your voucher with your flight credit:
£60 ACCOUNT CREDIT*
VOUCHER CODE: R88OICTK
- Code valid for active Prime members only.
It looks like you've deactivated your Prime account. If you'd like to get your account credit, you must reactivate your Prime account within 3 days by clicking on the button below.
Clicking below will reactivate your Prime account.**
Obviously I'm not going to reactivate my Prime account. So are travel agents actually allowed to change the price of things after booking? Surely not.... and what's to stop them doing this several times over/for greater amounts of money each time? Does anyone have any legal knowledge as to where we stand with this? One for Trading Standards?
Thanks.
