I always move out the way

So today I finally said it out loud whoops, three young ladies around 16-18years old I’d say, crossed over to my side of the road. We all proceeded to start on the single width stretch of path approx five terrace houses in length.
As we neared each other I ( of course) stepped into the road, they walked single file past in silence no nod or smile etc.
As number two passed I cheerfully said” thank you girls” number three looked up and smiled to which I said “ that was a little reminder for your manners”,
she had the grace to look a little embarrassed

Don't get me started on people who barge into a building when you open the door to leave and don't have the manners to say thanks.

Oh God, you're one of them.

Why didn't you just stand your ground and wait for them to go single file or one of them to choose to go off the pavement? You've been totally passive aggressive here and they probably have no idea why you said what you did when you chose to throw yourself out of the way into the road. It's completely tedious walking down the street with someone like you OP because the oncoming people always expect me to get out of the way as well and I don't. Assuming it's wide enough for two people to pass, just stay on the bloody pavement and let people move around you instead of being servile then getting arsy that people didn't give you a medal for something they never asked you to do.

💯 💯 💯

Yes, you're being unreasonable to "always move out of the way". Just don't! I never do and people walking in clumps will get the message and go round me instead.

If everyone had this attitude you’d all just be walking into each other! There’s nothing wrong with moving out the way for someone, the girls have as much right as op to walk the pavement

No, because if you're a single person walking towards a group of people walking three abreast, the group of people will in my experience always realise that they like me have just as much right to walk on the pavement singly, but not three abreast.

They went into single file
