To think that I should be able to draw the curtains fully across in a hotel room?

Currently on holiday with DS and the floor to ceiling length curtains in our room stop short of being able to be pulled right across the balcony door. The tracks stop halfway. So the morning light is flooding the room and it's woken me up before 6am.
AIBU to think this is weird? I've never stayed anywhere where the curtains can't be fully drawn.

That would drive me totally mad. What is the point of curtains if you can't draw them. Are all the rooms the same? You might need to go outside and look. If yours is the only one can you ask to move rooms? Other than that you may need to buy and eye mask and suck it up.

I travel a lot for work, l have stayed in a number of hotels where the curtains do not meet, but on looking up there are often blackout roller blinds in addition. Often they are not very noticeable.

I was chatting to another guest in the bar who had the same issue with the curtains and had not noticed the blinds.

OMG @StarlightLady you are right!! There is a roller blind which I didn't notice last night in the dark!
You've saved me from embarrassment complaining about it to reception.

❤So pleased to have been of help. I was hesitant in responding for fear of sounding like a know it all.

l don’t know where you are, but this set up is particularly common in French hotels.
